It's hard to tell and I'm no expert but it looks like your butt is coming up too much because of weak hammies, especially upper hammies. You doing any GHR work? It could just be your starting position though, hard to tell.

How far away from the bar are your shins when you are starting the lift? It looks like in the video they are right up against the bar. Start with your shins a couple inches away and you'll find it much easier to keep your shoulders behind the bar and drive through your quads.

Don't forget to 'flick' the hips forward as you're about half way up. BAM, explode at the top and thrust those hips forward.

Hey Merk,

I agree with you a little - The drag I think we're noticing is lack of glute activation. Your solution (ghr) would definitely help. He could also stand to give his lower back a bit more attention.

Wayne, 500 is coming for you.

to be completely honest, I dont do enough assistance work. I have only done hyperextensions like 2 times in the last few months. Other than that I dont do SLDL, or GHR. I pretty much do deads, squats, some hip work, bench, and some upper back work. I should prolly start doing some more focused work on my glutes and lower back.
