Default Dale is down!

Dale Norris a well known British Strongman has been injuried while attempting a 360kg squat which is around 800lb, his girlfriend posted up what happened on here Strength Discussion -> Welshdragons 07!

Hello! This is Sera (aka Bec) Dales girlfriend. He asked me to post tonight to explain his . . . VERY bad day at the office.

Dale had planned all day to go for a PB in squat of 360kg (Thats 800lb right?).
After a very easy 340k x 1 Dale went for the 360kg. . . and half way up his leg buckled. He dumped the weight and hit the floor like a sack of **** and told us to call an ambulance.

Long story short he went to the hospital and after a very long wait found out that he either has a torn patella tendon or a torn quad in his left leg.

He's being kept in all night and transferred in the morning to a hospital thats closer to home for an ultrasound and possibly an operation.

So far he's already given up all hope of competing this season..is gutted that he may not be able to compete in the Welsh/Uk's/Mighty midlander/...basically any comp coming up!

On the bright side I have the dreaded squat on video, along with numerous photos of him in agony on the floor...in the ambulance ...a video of a dozen guys trying to lift him onto the stretcher.. in the hospital looking very unhappy etc. So as soon as Dales out of the hosp he'll post them and explain the entire thing a bit better!

Bec x

Yeah im a big fan of Dale Norris as he always seems to give a good Performance in Uks Strongest Man, his legs are obviously very powerful so im real surprised that he didnt pull off a 360kg squat, these things happen i guess.

Really bad news for him!! Dale's a good friend of mine and was looking incredibly strong this year. I'm sure he'll bounce back he's only 24 so he has time on his side

My condolences to him, that's unfortunate.

This (or any muscle/tendon tear) is my worst nightmare. I'm not anywhere near the level Dale is, but just knowing that I couldn't train all-out for an extended period would eat at me.

Yes, that's a very unfortunate incident. I hope he's not too depressed about it. I wish him well in his recovery.
