Default 1010 lb bench press

YouTube - 1010Lb World Record Bench Press

Does anyone else find it ridiculous that the bench press world record is higher than the world record for dead lift. This just seems...not possible. But with those bench shirts those guys wear, their movement is so minuscule. It just seems like a person should be able to lift so much more doing a dead lift, and when lifting raw, that is the case. I dont know, just a thought, it seems crazy that people bench more than they dead lift.

Yeah. Still impressive but they're getting more and more ridiculous, they add
over 400lbs to that guy's raw lift!

It helps you lift more weight. They are often made of really strong denim. Basically, if you were to put one on, your arms would just be dangling in front of you, and with your own strength you could probably not pull ur arms to ur side. The point is the weight of the bar makes your arms go down but it puts a lot of tension on your arms, so you have extra help on the way up. For world class benchers, it can add an extra 300 lbs or so to their bench.

I don't think he has chicken legs. His calves are sick. I jus think his upperbody is so damn freaky! But yeah, I don't understand how shirts can be used for world records.

I go to the gym with a guy who competes in bench competitions , he has a personal best of 550 raw, not bad for a guy who is 48 years old. Anyway, i was talking with him at the gym as i normally do and i brought up Gene and his 1010lb bench press and he rolled his eyes and started laughing.

"I know that fat f***** slob, without those damn robot suits he aint s***. I saw him put 640 on the bar raw and he couldnt even unrack it. those shirts are bull****, your true strength is what you can do with a plain tshirt on."

I agree 100% , true beastly strength is what you can do in plain clothes.

That's a fantastic raw bench at any age. Do you know what weight class he competed in?

I agree with the concensus - the equipped lifts have gotten totally out of hand.

Not really as you have raw meets and suited meets, Bodybuilding doesnt allow synthol use or implants so that is outright cheating and its usually easy to tell whos using synthol.

I believe he weighs about 250lbs ... im almost positive he said he was lighter when he did it though, i can double check on monday. His whole family is into powerlifting/bodybuilding...his nephew is my psychology teacher in my highschool, and he is in phenominal shape for 24 years old.
