Strong man Events.
1.Carry and Drag.
Anvils and Anchor & Chain
Athletes will compete 5 (five) at a time.
The athletes will carry a weight a set distance, which must be placed over a marked line.
The athletes will then drag an anchor and chain a further set distance until the whole anchor and chain crosses the finish line.
The winner is the athlete who covers the most distance in the shortest time.
Weights: Anvils 130 kilos each
Anchors and chain 300 kilos
2.Giant Log Lift
Athletes will compete singly.
A large tree trunk is erected horizontally on a stand with handles at one end. The athlete will stand with his back facing the tree trunk and lifts it over his head as many times as possible within the designated time.
The winner will be the athlete who successfully completes the most repetitions within the time limit.
Total weight of log: 380 kilos
3.Pillars of Hercules
Athletes compete singly
The athlete stands with arms extended, gripping handles that restrain two pillars, one at each side. Timing will stop when the athlete is no longer able to hold the weight.
The winner is the athlete who holds the Pillars in the correct position for the longest time.
Weight: approx. 160 kilos x 2 (estimated amount)
Time Limit: There is no time limit.
4.Fingals Fingers
This is a timed event with athletes going in pairs.
The five fingers in the shape of large poles will be lifted in ascending order of weight and flipped over 180 degrees.
The winner will be the fastest to flip all the fingers.
Length varies from: 3.5 m – 5.5 m
Weight: 200 / 225 / 250 / 275 / 300 kilos
5.Lorry Pull
Athletes will compete singly.
The athlete, wear a harness attached to the lorry and with the help of a rope, they pull the lorry along a road, facing the direction of the finishing line throughout the pull.
The winner is the athlete who completes the course in the fastest time, or who covers the most distance, in the fastest time.

6.DeadLift Barrels
Athletes to compete singly.
The athlete will be required to lift a number of barrels, which will be dropped one by one into a frame within a stipulated time period. On completion of a good lift another barrel will be loaded automatically, until: time runs out, all the barrels are lifted or the athlete aborts the attempt.
The athlete lifting most weight in the shortest time wins.
Lift weights can vary from a starting weight of 250 kilos/551lbs to a final barrel weight of 335 kilos/739lbs.
7.Squat Lift
Athletes to compete singly.
The athlete stands under the bar and must squat until they are below parallel, they then lift the weight back up to the fully erect position; each time they return to the erect position, more weight will be added to the apparatus.
The winner is the athlete who successfully lifts all weights in the fastest time, or the most weight in the time allowed.
Time Limit: 75 seconds
Lift weights can vary from a starting weight of 235 kilos/518bs to a final barrel weight of
320 kilos/705lbs
8.Overhead Lift for reps
Athletes compete singly
Athletes will lift a wooden log from the ground then raise it overhead as many times as possible in the time limit; the weight is returned back to the floor in a controlled fashion before attempting to the next lift.
The winner will be the one who completes as many lifts as possible within the time limit.
Weights: 115 kilos
Time limit: 75 seconds
9.Atlas Stones
Competitors will compete in pairs.
There are five stones of increasing weights, which are positioned in ascending order and five podiums positioned in decreasing height.
The athlete picks up the lightest stone first and places it onto the highest platform, and continues until all five have been put on the wall or until his time has run out.
The winner is the athlete who places the most stones onto the platforms in the quickest time.
Weights: 100-112-120-140-160 kilos
10.Giant Farmers Walk
Athletes will compete in pairs.
Competitor will carry a weight in each hand over a marked course in as quick a time as possible.
Weights vary depending on piece of equipment
11.Deadlift For Reps
Athletes to compete singly
A car is positioned on a frame which has handles extending from underneath the car. The athlete will grip the handles and lift the car to the ‘knees locked’ position and place the car down on the ground again.
The winner is the athlete who completes the most lifts in a given amount of time.
Weight: Weight of an average car (approx. 1800 kilos)
12.Fridge Carry
Athletes will compete in pairs.
Athletes will carry a yoke that holds two fridge freezers on their shoulders. This will be carried over the course as quickly as possible within the time limit.
The winner is the athlete who completes the course in the shortest time or, failing that, the one who travels the farthest in the quickest time.

13.Plane Pull
Athletes will compete singly.
The competitor will pull a plane, with the help of a harness and rope, along a set course.
The winner will be the athlete who covers the complete course in the fastest time or, failing that, who covers the biggest distance in the shortest time.
Length of Course: 30 Metres
Time Limit: 75 seconds

14.Africa Stone
The Africa Stone is placed in a stand which the athlete stands behind. The athlete then wraps their arms around the stone interlocking their fingers. They remove the Africa Stone from the stand and walk as far as possible along a course until they cannot carry it any further.
If the athlete drops the Africa Stone on the ground, or steps out of the designated lane, the attempt will be terminated.
The winner will be the athlete who carries the Ding the furthest distance..
