Hey gang:
I've been browsing this BB for about a month now. Looks great!! Started messing around at the local "Y" about a year ago. Didn't have much direction or any goal. Then one night on a gig with my rock and roll band I noticed that I had more endurance than usual and since I don't have time to practice 3 or 4 hours a day like I should, I decided it must be the fact that I've been working out. So I decided to get serious. Lifting with a plan running and for a purpose; the whole works. I've dropped 20 pounds since January and have really bulked up alot (still quite weakmin the arms and chest though). I only regret that I didn't take a before picture or get any measurments. Anyway, I work out to look better, feel better, and to have more stamina at my day job. The only chicks I need to impress are my wife of seven years and my daughters ages 4 and 1. I've rambled too much. My future posts will be much shorter. I'm happy to be on board. |

Musicguy,
Sure high notes are fun, but I've learned that High Note Trumpet Guy gets paid the same as Low Note Trumpet Guy. Might want to pass that on to your son. I'll try to refrain from any more non-bodybuilding posts. |

Howdy folks,
I have been "lurking" around for a few months now, creating a notebook of information for my new hobby, and wanted to drop by and introduce myself. First off thanks for the tips and information you guys provide. I am very glad I found this site. I happen to stumble across it via google. After looking through a few forums, this happened to be one I found to be the most informative. 24 year old computer techie from down south Louisiana. Currently serving in the Navy stationed over in Nevada. Married with two wonderful kids. 5'10 182lber not looking to be a bodybuilder, but looking to make a change in my life along with my wife. Getting in shape and hopefully after lots of hard work, packing on some muscle, are my goals for now With the Navy's standards on PT, I am usually running 6 miles a week. I don't really like all the running, but I have to do it I guess. Diet---- Well this area was lacking terribly. Not until recently (a month or so ago) did I start eating right (so I think). Mornings- 4 hard boiled eggs, orange juice, and a banana Lunch- High protein if possible. Another 4 eggs- fish- Veggies- tuna and Milk. I work out from 5pm - 6pm, following the beginners guide for now. Dinner- 4 more eggs- and usually whatever my wife cooks. Normally healthy. I haven't really started taking protein shakes as of yet. It looks really expensive. My dog has developed a new found love for egg yolks, so I will most likely continue to just eat the eggs for now. As suggested from a friend, I might have to look into ebay for the whey protein. I hear its much cheaper than GNC. Over all I love the weight lifting. I really enjoy the new curves/shapes my body is taking on. Seems everytime I look in the mirror I see something new that just makes me look forward to going back to the gym. Thanks again FK |

I've been on Cell-Tech for a while, but HATE the high sugar content. If I were to mix Cool-Aid with something like Splenda, instead of Dextrose, would it have the same insulin "spiking" effect (without all the sugar, calories, etc)?
