[quote="Jim"]welcome to the forum alex.

you should aim for 1-1.5g protein/lb of body weight. that's total daily protein, which includes protein from foods, and whey together.

try something like optimum's 100whey, chocolate or vanilla both taste very good.

oh ok thx, for now im using Whey protein, orange creamsicle flavour, it's not too bad if u add juice to it, but as for water and milk, it's just horrible. I might try the optimum for futur reference, thanks

Default Hello everyone

New member to the sight...I really appreciate the low cost / benefit spin put on the reviews here. I don't have loads of cash to be dumping on supplements that don't work or taste so bad I won't want to use them. I'm looking to drop fifty pounds...while thickening up my muscle mass. I'm currently doing Chest/biceps Monday, Cardio tuesday, legs/abs Wed, Cardio thurs, Back/shoulders/triceps friday... Is this a good plan? I'm trying to lift as heavy as possible while working nearly every set to failure and giving myselft lots of recuperative time by only hitting each body part once a week.

Welcome, how long have you been training? If you are looking at dropping 50lbs I would add a couple more cardio sessions in there.

I got my first set of weights when I was 9 and lifted religiously till about the age of 19. I was reading muscle and fitness, taking Weider supplements... that tasted awefull...the works, 5 days a week. I got married young to a very sedentary women who could cook and got real fat and out of shape. The marriage ended years ago but the bad eating habit didn't and while I lost a considerable ammount of weight after the divorce I haven't trained with much discipline since my teens. I've been back in the gym for two weeks now...finally getting to the point where recovery takes place in a day instead of a week...and got my bench back up to 300 already ...but everyone should be able to bench their weight right?..so its not that big a deal. I'm a big guy though and when I was very fit, working in an iron foundry about seven years ago, I was only able to get down to 250 lbs. I consider that my ideal weight since I was back to wearing the size pants I wore in high school where my football playing wieght was 215.
BTW is that your picture ezmer?...If so you must be pro huh?

hee hee, I wish!!! No that is pro BB Lee Priest, one of my main motiviational role models in the BB world...he is only 5'4" and is an awesome BB...His arms when in contest condition measure 21"...man that is big and the same as most pro guys who are 8" taller than him....

I don't think everyone should "automatically" be able to bench their own weight right off the bat, with training sure, but if you (not you) are 300lbs and have never lifted I dont think it is reasonable to expect them to be able to bench that much right away....I've lifted on and off since I was 21 (34 now)...and the last lay off was 7 months, when I got back into it in Feb this year I had a hard time lifting 135 x 10, and now I am up to 215 x 8....(not much when compared to others but it is all relative anyway)

New to the site. Just wanted to say hi. I'm 31 and used to put alot of effort into bodybuilding, been slacking the last 3-4 yrs though and thought it was time to get back to it. I origanally ran into this site doing a search about PH cycles. Lots of experience, advice, and opinions in here! I have already bought almost everything needed for a cycle because of the ban scare, but will wait a few more months (probably end of summer) before starting it. I have a ways to go naturally before I give myself that bump. Until then, I will take advantage of others experience in here and definately look forward to posting a cycle log in the future.

Default I'm new!

Just kind of stumbled on this site and thought I would sign up. I am 18, about 5'8-5'9 and only 145 lbs. I have been working out for a little under 6 months now and I am in pretty good shape. I have put on 15 pounds of solid muscle since ive started. And now have a max bench of 205. I work out usually about 4-5 days a week (maybe to much sometimes) and do one group at a time (chest, back, shoulders, arms, legs). Thats about it for now.

hey i'm new here but not new to weight training and eating healthy. I'm 18 years old and my mom has battled weight loss for a long time and I got her genes unfortunatley. I'm only 4" 11' so that makes it even harder as well because techincally with my weight and height i'm off all those dr's charts and obese. Everyone has told me "muscle weights more then fat and so that's why u don't look ur weight"..and i know that's true but i was so upset after my dr's appointment recently when she told me I was gonna be this way forever that I calcualted my body fat percentage. It said i was obese too.
Well my mom got into weight training w/ a personal trainer about 5 years ago so I started a stricter eating program and more intense work out plan then what i was doing and he is looking over my plan for me. I'm just really frustrated and this seems to have alot of information. Thanks.

Hello everyone...new to the forum.

I am finally getting serious about getting in shape again. Doing the right things,,, (Nutrition #1) and working out.

I am however, interested in what supplements would benefit me at my age (42). The only things I currently take is a Whey Protein and a Testostrone Formula. I think both of these supplements are helping me but any useful feedback I can get to help maximize my workout experience (without drugs or extreme supplements) would be appreciated.

Happy to be here!

Speedyg
