Good afternoon BB4U,
I just came across this site while doing standard research (you know google) about a supplement question. Did some lurking this afternoon and figured since I know I'll be back might as well register. About me: I was a big gym rat when I was in the Marine Corps, fast forward thru an injury, getting married and having twin sons I haven't touched a weight in about 3 years and it's time get back to the iron I loved. Now that my kids are almost 3 I don't feel bad about taking some me time back and getting into the gym again. I've already got one of the most important assets for success; a gym partner that actually shows up and is worth a damn. Now I'm just doing some research on the basics to see what's new, what's still constant, and what's been proven as a waste of time since last I attempted to get swoll. By trade I'm a software analyst (aka computer nerd) it pays the bills. I refuse to be the cookie cutter skinny nerd or uber fatass keyboard jockey though. Goals: I'm looking to drop some weight, and by some I mean 60 pounds. The combination of me eating like the wife when she was preggo + not doing a damn thing for PT put me in a hurt locker bad, I'm up to 260 and it's a very, very soft 260. I've got no one to blame but me, I know it, I've accepted it, time to move on and rebuild this house. I'm looking to get strong again. I miss moving mountains of iron. I miss having to cut the sleeves of my cammies so I could roll them past my elbow. I don't plan on cutting up like I'm entering a competition, it's just not something that's on my list of things to do right now. I want strength and decent size. I don't need to be ripped but I sure as **** can't stay how I am now. I do know how to use a search function, I don't enjoy stupid questions, and I don't believe in rehashing things that have already been proven and backed up so don't expect too many worthless posts from me but I will be around. Once my probationary period is over with these boards feel free to hit me up via PM if you've got any questions. |
