This is my first ever post. I quoted from joemomma above because we seem to be pretty much on the same page as I am 32 and used to lift about 10 years ago. I have been back into it for a little over 2 months now. I am 5'10" and about 174 pounds. I don't yet have a sixpack but I am fairly close. I could see it if I wasn't quite as hairy and if the lighting was just right. I have lifted occasionally over the last several years but nothing very substantial. I am a second degree in Aikido thry the Aikido World Alliance so I have been physically active steadily in that. I started out in Goju in 5th grade and switched to Aikido when I was about 17 or so. I lift with 2 friends that are in thier early to mid 60s. These guys are in shape and it is all I can do just to keep up with them. One used to be a personal trainer out on Muscle Beach back in it's hayday and used to have his own dojo in the area years ago. He is very strong on proper form and muscle isolation. I hope to get up to about 200 pounds with a decent sixpack. I was always imprressed with Frank Zane. I once saw a pic of him at 165 pounds that looked awesome. We are the same height. I want size and shape and I want to be fit for life. I have been reading on the site for a few days now and thought I should introduce myself. |

Hey, my name is Dave. I have been reading up on this site for a couple months now but never really had anything to say. I'm 20 years old and have been active in sports all my life but decided to start seriously lifting about 5 months ago. I've been taking bits and pieces of advice from different places on this site and have seen great gains. Look forward to not being a newb soon

42 years old, 5'11", 205 lbs. I was 268# as of April '07, but working with a nutritionist/dietician has helped get me to where I am today. Currently about 19% bf (down from 27%), looking to get to about 15%. I currently work out 6 days a week (3 weights, 3 cardio), doing full body workouts (30 min.) and using a stair-stepper for cardio (35 min. each). I made the mistake of doing only cardio during my weight-loss, so I'm trying to gain back some of the muscle that I lost in the process. I've lurked for a while here, but there's a lot of good info being passed around, so I'm getting involved to get my questiones answered.

Hi, My name is Jon Christopher, I have been a big guy all of my life. I am currently 6'3" and 240lbs. I have the body of a guy that will never be 180lbs due to my frame. I have recently (over the past year and a half) lost 110lbs. I switch my workout up a lot and do at least 30min of cardio a day 4-5 days a week as well as hit the weights for another 30min at least. My RHR is 38 beats a Minute, so my Cardiovascular conditioning is pretty good. I'm not trying to bulk up but just tone and get off another 30lbs or so. Any advice on how I can lose those last pounds. I eat very healthy but just can't seem to lose those last few pounds and it's starting to discourage me. Again I appreciate any and all help you can give me.

Hey Guys, 43 yr old, lifted all though my 20's, about a year in mid 30's and now back into the lift. I've dropped 30lbs since September and looking to lose another 20. Need to figure out how much cardio to do while lifting to maximize fatloss and keep the muscle.

I just started back take supplements. Only think now is that I'm taking new supplements and I like to know if its ok for me to mix them. I'm currently taking Superpump 250 and Optimum ZMA is this ok. Also I'm I wasting my money by taking both at the same time.
