Roger,
I'm new here, so I don't know how to navigate through this site. This is why I'm not sure that this will be posted in the right place to respond to your message. Anyway, thanks for the link, but it doesn't have what I need: a way to find someplace where I can see and try out Sisco's machine. As to your request for exercise information, I think you could do no better than to read the reviews of one of Sisco's books. There are 99 of them, and although I've already read all of them once, I'm going to print them. They're amazing. If you think that there are any final answers, think again. These reviews are astounding in their range of opinions and experiences. After reading them, you won't have "THE ANSWER," you'll know that "THERE IS NO ANSWER," or maybe you'll think that "THERE ARE MANY ANSWERS" is more descriptive. In any case, reading the many opinions is enlightening. Here is the website address: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0809229072/103-0288269-9276612?v=glance&n=283155> |

Greetings everyone, I'm new to the forum, but I have a verry important question. Im a machinist, and I got my hand caught in a lathe at work and cut some tendons in July. I had surgery and Im almost at 80%. To make a long story short, my wife is telling me that I cant lift. My doc says I can, but theres no arguing with a pregnant woman. Is there any "safe ways" to get back in the gym, and also to give her peice of mind. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks, Brian

Hi everybody,
I'm not sure how to start this, but I'll give you all a little back-ground first. I'm 37yo and I'm terribly out of shape. I've spent the last two years in a deep depression and basically laid in bed all day. I'm trying to better my life so that I'll feel better about myself. My doctor suggested exercise, and when I look in the mirror, I have to say that I agree. I'm not overweight, but sometimes I do creep over the bar. My body is essentially mush and starting to droop. The excess weight I do carry is around my mid-section. I've tried to ask questions in chatrooms pertaining to bodybuilding, but was either ignored, made fun of or told to bother somebody else. It sort of confirms my opinion that alot of muscle guys are jerks and stuck on themselves. I know that I am a newbee, but we have all been beginners at one time right? I'm sorry for rambling, but I'm just a little discouraged. I guess my main question is this: Am I too old to reshape my body into something I can be proud of? I welcome any advice, opinions, etc. from all you guys/gals. I sure appreciate the help because I feel like I've waited too long to get into shape. |

I am looking for info on the BMi index I am 6' 225lbs. Just joined Gym 2 weeks ago. BMI says I am obese, inch test says overweight. Since joining the gym, I have gained 3 lbs. Workout cardio (stationary bike) 30 minutes, and nautilus equipment, not looking to get huge just healthy, want to lose 25 lbs, and create some muscles. Is there anything out there for a LOW glycemic index diet? (diabetic)

Hey Lifefighter, sounds like you just need some motivation. There can be a lot of "jerks" in the bodybuilding/weightlifting world; and, in particular, on a forum, where you are insulated/protected by the computer. However, I've found that most people, including weightlifters, are nice people and more than willing to help. Guys who lift like crazy often began doing so because of low self-esteem. Many are more introverted than extroverted. But this has nothing to with whether they are decent people. They may initially appear unfriendly, until you get to know them. So be careful of making broad generalizations (kind of like I've done here
)Of course you can get in shape. You already know this. You just need to find your motivation. If you are a hard worker (or willing to become one), you can achieve whatever level of fitness you desire. |
