Hi everyone!
I have been reading the guides posted up on the home page and feel like I have found a really solid site for information. I need to finish my profile but I wanted to share a little info about me while I am here. I have just got back into going to the gym last April. I have not been in the gym since I was 19 and I am 33 now. My workout schedule was mostly 12oz curls until I decided round is really not a good shape. I live in Tennessee a little south from Knoxville (Go Vols). I have been happy with my weight/cardio mix I have been doing. So far I have lost about 20 pounds. Down to 206 !! My goals now have shifted and I want to start seeing some muscle gains. That is why I came here, to learn how to build. Right now I am now doing the 5 miles on the cardio machines and running the full rotation of weight training on each muscle group. My routine is simple. 3 days a week. One day is a "push" day where I devote the day to various chest, shoulder, and triceps presses. One day is my "pull" day where I cover back and biceps. One day is legs and stomach. This is also the day I do the cardio. I am going to add a 4th day of (please don't laugh I am new) pilates. My goal for this day is to improve my flexibility and get my wife to join me in the gym. I will continue to read through the site and learn for a while (trying not to ask questions that already have been answered). I look forward to talking with many of you and I am excited about joining this community. Gotta run now, it is "push" day! Take care, Bart Murphy |

New guy here. 27 years old, former college football player. Let myself go from a solid 185, to a soft 217. Decided in February that 217 was enough. I started doing a lot of running and worked hard to lose that weight. I stayed away from the weights until I got to a size I was comfortable at. I am down to 180, and am now going to cut back on the Cardio and begin integrating weight training. I look forward to gaining as much knowledge from you guys as I can.
