Hey all,
Well im looking to get back into shape after to long of a lapse of not working out, unfortuanly stress and such have gotten me blown up in the last year and a half or so, as in 45 pounds worth, and taking supplements not the way they should have been as a little to do with that as well. But right now im 6'4 290 pounds, a year and a half ago i was 250 ish but starting to bulk up while takin Sans V-12, So im looking to get back at it hard, Im looking at trying to lose 40-50 lbs however put muscle on at the same time, but i also want to get back on the V-12 now that i have time to take it right and etc. However a few people have told me to start with NO-Explode instead of the V-12? What are you thoughts, I figure as i am not trying to put on weight ill just use the supplement and hit the gym hard. Or is there something i should stack it with to get the results i want? Im sure there will be more questions from you to me, but any you have to help me get on track ill answer!.. Thanks! |

i agree, start from the bottom, supplement-less and work up.
when ure actually raging out, then think of using it, but at same time mind your wallet. i personally dont think supplments are useless, i see it as just a boost beyond regular physical capability, in my case, ARRGHH im a pirate :X |

Sounds like you really want to use supplements to enhance your lifting, and in my experience, us telling you not to will cause you to argue and do it anyway. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but keep in mind that you came here for advice, from people that are experienced and have been doing this for awhile.
Nothing is wrong with supplements. I take them. Most people here take them. The difference is our motivation and understanding of the supplements we take. The number one supplement we all take is a good daily multi-vitamin. Second, find yourself some good fish-oils. I use other supplements too. If you really want to lose weight and get back into shape, then do like Joementum says and work on your diet, cardio and weight lifting. Your diet will be the most crucial element to shedding that fat. Look here - http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/fo...utrition-chat/ for a good start. If you have specific questions, ask and we will see how we can help. Second, do 3-4 days of cardio. Finally, add in a little weight training. The more muscle you have, the more energy your body will need and it will feed on those fat cells. Cutting fat and bulking up are counterproductive. When cutting, you won't consume enough calories to properly bulk and vice-versa. Focus on one before the other. When you decide that you want to start building that muscle back up, they take your NO supp. I take one for several reasons, but mostly because it helps me get in one or two more reps with 5lbs more than without. I take creatine as well. Don't bother with supplements, other than the multi and fish-oil, until you have been lifting for at least a couple months. Then you can subject your body to the supplements. Do it to soon and you won't listen to your body, but instead will think your an animal and try to push too much weight and tear something and then your really screwed cause not only are you out of shape, but your out of shape with an injury.

Hey Guys,
I appreciate all the advice!.. that was actually going to be one of my next questions as far as the suppletment goes in order to start taking them, I was thinking about getting into a routine first, then adding the supplements when need be. And i guess right now im more looking at cutting the weight then bulking up, as i figure it would make more sense to start with that and doing a multi vitaman, lots of cardio and throwing some lifting in there on the side, being ive taken so much time off and am trying to get back into it, my old routine was to lift for 45-hour, then hit the bike or treadmill for that same amount of time, im thinking my body wont be able to handle that again right away and i will need to work back into it. |
