Default Great Forum-Head Pain

Would like to say hi. Great Forum!

I am looking for some advice on head pain.

I have been lifting for about 5 years. I have had a few pulls here and there in my chest, legs etc.. but nothing bad.

I have been rotating for the last year from lighter more reps to heavey fewer reps. About 3 months ago or so, I was in my heavier routine and noticed on the right upper side of my head a funny very slight "pulling" type of feeling. I may not be describing the feeling correctly but it wasn't really painful at all just a funny feeling.

I noticed it more and more when I would push heavier weight. If I would go lighter I rarely would feel it. Then when I did heavier I noticed if I made sure to breathe real deep and the exhale properly I wouldn't really feel it.

For the past 3 weeks however I have been feeling this and some slight pain. I am not sure what it is.

I have had so many sinus and pressure related issues over the past 3 years that I thought it was that. I always have sinus issues that seem to settle on the right side of my head. About 3 years ago I had pressure, numbness on the right side of my head for about a month so I had a CT scan and MRI even went to a neurologist and everything was normal. They said some sinus issues most likely stress as I do get stressed and have anxiety issues.

My blood pressure however is around 110/70 so it is good.

Anyone ever have anything like this? I attribute it to the lifting because of the way it started.

Thanks,
Scott

Hey Scott! Welcome to the boards.

When you are done lifting, can you localize the area or does it only hurt while lifting? In other words, can you put your finger on your head and push to get the sensation?

Hi Gill:

There have been a few times it hurt to the touch but not every time. Most times it just hurts but lately it had been hurting even when I do not lift.

I am wondering if I am having some sinus issues at the same time.

Thanks,
Scott

If you are able to localize the pain in the same area repeatedly, I don't think its sinus pressure. It really sounds like a strained artery or vein. When you said right and upper, are you referring to your temple area?
