Default new guy - looking for advise

hey everyone, great to be here. been excersizing on & off for 30yrs (since high school) but pretty serious for the last 5. i liked the "phillips" book and followed it pretty good but found i didn't need to lose weight but rather wanted to & (STILL DO) get bigger & leaner. I can't afford a trainer but am hoping that some of you can help me. good listener & qiuck learner and am very motivated!

Q) can someone give me advise on a good but somewhat inexpensive protien supplement &/or creatine mix(sp)?

dave

Optimum Nutrition - Gold Standard. Good quality and a Fair price.

Most any creatine monohydrate powder will do you fine. Get it at the same place you get your ON Whey

Thank you Ryan, How the heck do you guys get those abs???
No Really, I'm 48 & pretty good about what I eat but as I get older, stuff starts settling in the middle. It seems no matter what I try to do, ab- routines, eating, I'm still having problems trying to get my mid section in shape. I'm 5'9'', 185 non smoker, & at least OK w/ the rest of my body. It's the damn mid section. Any help greatly appreciated

I'm going to have to agree with the Optimum Nutrition protein shakes. It is outstanding, a good price, and they have a ton of flavors. I personally use the 100% Whey in natural chocolate, root beer, and recently tried the fruit punch flavor. All are excellent!

Default Optimum Whey Variety Pack

Also, if you're not sure which flavor to try for the Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein there is a new variety pack. It has 16 flavors so you can try each one and then decide which flavor you like best and buy a larger tub. It contains flavors from fruit punch to chocolate mint to mocha cappuccino to chocolate malt. They all are so good it will be hard to choose!

The abs are going to come when you get down to low body fat %. We need to know more details about your body to address the issue. How tall are you? How much do you weigh? What is your current workout routine? Diet?

Give us as much information as you can manage and there are plenty of people here who can put you on the right path.

Well im also new, and i figured this is somewhat similar.

But I'm 16 starting to work out to get stronger and bigger for football season in september, right now my stats are 6'2 165 I try to work out 4 times a week. My work outs are usually like this (I try to focus on these parts) for about an hour with a 15-20 minute cardio as a warm up:
Monday Arms, Shoulders, Back and a bit of pecs and chest
Tuesday My core, and then try to really train the pecs and chest
Wednsday My Cardio Day I usually just do that in my house and hop on the bike
Thursday Legs.

Friday, saturday and sunday is rest.

Basically what im asking is, does that seem like a good work out plan to you? I'm trying to gain about 20 lbs by football season but remain fast, or is that even possible to gain weight and stay fast.

I am taking whey protein but thats all.
