Default New guy here in the Air Force and looking for advice

How's it going? I?m currently deployed due to the fact im in the Service. I'm
6'3 232lbs and 25 years old. My body stature is pretty normal except of the beer belly. I have been doing cardio for about 40 minutes a day 6 days a week since I got here 4 weeks ago. Also take a Ab class twice a week for 30 minutes. I have dropped about 7 lbs already in the 3 weeks. I haven't taken any supplements just started eating better than I do back home.

Breakfast: Normally A bowl of Special K cereal, Banana, Strawberries (6), and a glass of water unless I?m tired sometimes I drink a diet coke. Once every three days I have an omelet with everything.

Snack: Nutri-grain bar or a banana

Lunch: Some type of chicken, veggie, and a glass of water.

Dinner: Chicken, veggie, and a salad with a glass of water.

Is this a decent diet?

What I am trying to do is loose weight but also gain muscle just to look better. I just ordered Universal Animal M-Stak, 21 Packs and Hot Rox. I plan on taking the M-stak starting as soon as it arrives and lifting 5 out of 7 days a week while doing cardio 3 of those 7 days after I lift. Then after that 3 week period start taking the Hot Rox while lifting and still running. Or should I start the HOT ROX right away? I want to loose another 20 pounds or just loose my gut and I have 3 months left. My diet here is totally different from back home I?m used to fast food and some good old beer. Here you can?t drink so I don?t have that to worry about. I don't want to bulk up huge just be healthier and look better. Can you guys let me know if this is a good plan or should I make some changes. Any comments would be great along with advice on what changes I should make or extra things I could do. THANKS!

What does your cardio consist of? Your diet for being at 232 should continue to yield results for you. I'd say it looks good although I hope your not drinking just two glasses of water a day? Aim for a gallon! Being in the service i'd imagine they'd force water down your mouth! I'd expect a lil more than 7lbs in three weeks though.

How long have you been following that diet and cardio schema?

First and foremost, thanks for your service. It means the world. You're amazing.

If you're trying to cut weight, I'd hit the Hot Rox from the start and not use the M-Stak until you're ready to bulk. I don't know where you are stationed, but if its already scorching hot, then careful on thermogenics. They raise your body temperature as high as two degrees. Drink tons of water. As Virus said, atleast a gallon a day. Upwards of two if you start hitting the weights hard too.

Here are a few basics. You can't build muscle and lose fat at the same time; however, when you lose fat it unsheathes your muscles giving the appearence that you're bigger or "ripped." You cannot spot reduce. In other words, doing ab exercises won't cut your ab fat any quicker; however, they'll look better once you cut enough fat for them to show through.

I don't know how meal plans work where you are... can you eat when you want or are you alotted 3 meals a day only? If you're allowed to use your discretion, try keeping the same caloric intake, but spreading it over 5 meals meals instead of 3. If you take in too many calories in one sitting, your body cant use it all as energy and starts to store it as fat. Eat small and you'll use that energy up without adding fat.

I'm not sure how much chicken you are eating when you reference to it, but I'd say you're roughly eating 1700 calories which is good. At your weight and height, you could afford to up the calories to around 1900. If they put sauces and stuff on the chicken, careful of fat content. Alfredo sauces kill!

As far as supplements go... make damn sure you have a multi-vitamin first and foremost. Hot Rox is fine as a thermogenic. Since you're doing mostly cardio right now, consider getting a caffeine supplement or attempting to take in more through your diet. It'll aid your thermogenic and give you the extra edge when doing cardio.

Best of luck.

Appreciate the feedback. I'm on average doing 30 to 45 minutes on the elliptical a day. Today I am starting to really hit the weights. I plan on hitting weights for about 45 minutes then doing my 30 minutes of cardio daily. I have been drinking a lot of water just put it that way to let people know I'm not having a mountain dew with every meal. I'm still waiting on the Hot Rox to get here so I have been taking stacker 3's that somebody gave me before they left. I was thinking about it and I think I will keep up with my schedule stop the stacker 3's then add the hot rox. I will wait a month to two months then add the M-Stak. Should I be drinking any protein shakes while lifting? Like I said I'm not trying to get huge just live healthier and look better. It will be beach time when I leave this place. I will start the smaller meals right away. I make sure I eat a couple of hour before heading to bed to. Even thought sometimes it's really hard with the hours I'm putting in. Should I continue to take the stackers with the hot rox or at least take a stacker an hour before my workout? Thanks for the help guys!

I never heard of Hot Rox but they look like just an ephedra product. In that case, Stacker basically is an ECA product with yes, ephedra. I do think there is ephedra-free Stacker products, i'm not sure I do not use them. Maybe someone else will chime in.

In that case, if you going to continue supplementing Stacker then postpone your usage on the Hot Rox.

Yes if you think you need the extra protein - then take a whey/protein shake. Just be careful cause the calorie amount can be high and carb amount could also give your diet regima a problem.

I did forget to say this, but thanks for your service. I'm sorry for not making that the very first thing I even said. I have muchos respect for people in the military.

If you're still cutting fat, then I suggest not taking in carbs after a certain time period. I have no idea how it is, but assuming you go to bed around 11pm, dont take in any carbs after 8pm. So no breads, juices, or anything that is simply high in carbs. Protein however is fine.

Your body will not be expending those carbs you just ate when you go to bed, and will end up stored as fat. So eat through the day, but after the evening, cut the carbs and eat some protein.

I've used M-Stak. It works pretty well if you're bulking.

Do I need to start eating more while taking the M stak or can I remain on my 1800 plus or minus 200 diet?
