Default New guy here bio and Q's

Well im brand new to supplements and im just so confused so i guess ill give some background and we'll go from there.

Currently i am 21. In high school i ran cross country and track. I was never super competitive but compared to a lay person i was pretty quick. I could knock out a mile in 5:37 and a 5k in under 20 mins no problem. I was 6'3 and about 165 in season and 175-180 in the summer. Super lean kid right? well i graduated high school and worked my way up Advance auto parts store. I was working approx 50-60 hours a week and the money was great. But i stopped working out and this fall i weighed in at 288. I am now down to 265 and have started up some basic cardio, i still kinda get disgusted by letting myself look how i do now. My Body fat was calcualted at a super high 28.2. I want to keep up my cardio to lose fat but i would like to pick up upper body muscle mass. I think that by supplementing i can achive both of these goals. I read the 5 part guide and i like everything other than the weight gainer... maybe in a few months, kill some fat first.

Well i think thats about all there is too it. im trying to find what supplements i should start taking and when. Oh p.s. i am a college kid so cheapness would be amazing. thanks for all your help and i hope somone has some great ideas.

Most the folks on here are gonna tell you the same thing. Don't worry about supplements other than a good multi-vitamin and fish oil. If you want to lose weight, spend the money that you would for supplements on a healthy diet instead and do cardio, as well as some weight training.

However, if you are convinced that you have to have a supplement, then ON Gold Standard is a great whey protein powder and is relatively inexpensive.

Remember, there is no "fast fix". You didn't put on the weight overnight, don't expect to lose it overnight.
