Hi i just started working out and as i have been reading through this site i see that for everyday of your workout you need to work on a specified muscle only.
eg. Monday-legs Tuesday-Shoulders Wednesday-chest etc. So my question: is it good if i ignore this routine and just workout every second day on all my parts of the body for like 2 hours and then do a couple of laps in the pool? any help and thoughts would help me much thanks a lot for everything |

Working alternate muscle groups. Push with your chest pull with your back. Push with you tri's pull with your bi's. Be sure that on big muscle group days you have plenty of time. It can also be called excentric, concentric. Ask if you're wanting more info on it.

actually, you can make good progress on a full body routine. i have been doing one for ten weeks now and have added 20kgs to my squat, 30kgs to my deadlift and 15kgs to my bench.
2 hrs is too long though. you need to keep it to under 1 hr if poss. here is a link to the program Bill Starr 5x5 - Madcow Intermediate or Linear Version having said that, a pull/pull/legs routine works well also. run ine for 8 or more weeks and then run the other. see which works best for you. |
