Default Do I Need More Days Off???

just wondering how many days to take off per week, i do a different muscle group each day (arms, back, shoulders, chest, legs) and normally go monday-friday, if i am rotating muscle groups is it ok to go these consecutive days??

for each muscle group i do 4-6 different exercises 3 sets of 10 reps for most

im 23 fairly new to lifting and trying to add muscle mass/definition and shed some weight, college got me quite out of shape, i was just reading on here about overtraining and didnt know if it applied when switching muscle groups daily

thanks!

Well, you can split it like this
1.monday
chest
shoulders
tris

2.Wed
Back
bi's

3.Friday
Legs

Days in between take off.
This is a very basic routine for starters. At your experience I would keep it as simple as possible till you understand what works for you in the gym

Once you know what you doing you can increase the frequency of muscle trained

Just be careful because there is a lot of overlap.

Bench Press uses chest AS WELL AS triceps(arms), and front delts(shoulders).

I agree with the above, it's always been my favourite split.

Chest/triceps/shoulders

Back/biceps

Legs/Abs
