In order to cut down on ignorant people, spam, and other related e-bull$hit, there has been a new system implemented. Heres the shakedown on the three groups of promotion settings:

1) Registered users - the basic group all new users are set to.
No PM's, No sigs, no upload, All posts are placed in moderation Queue before being posts.

Promotion requirements: Registered for 7 days, and minimum 10 posts. Once this is met, they get promoted to next level:

2) Registered users - limited access.
Posts are not placed in mod queue. But no PM, no Sig, yes upload

Promotion requirements: Registered for 30 days, and minimum 30 posts. Once this is met, they get promoted to next level:

3) Registered users - full access.

This thus far has improved the community greatly. A well added feature from our fearless leader Jim.

Wish the waiting period wasn't so long...it's almost discouraging that one can't post pics, send pm's, etc. To me it would seem that it would discourage the "newbies" to use this site. I'm almost discouraged myself, if it was not for me wanting to help others and get new ideas for my workout/diet.

Hi,

I have been away from the forum for a while.

I am trying to open a new thread under the Weight Loss section, but I don't see it show up for some reason. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Wrong, it has made this place a ghost town.

Nice going Jim. LOL

That's a good point.
Many people won't join a dead board. How's the board doing now?

With all the other sites out there, who'd bother hanging around here until they became "verified".

If the mods just did their jobs efficiently, trouble makers would out the door swiftly.

That's too bad. Personally I don't think the restriction is a bad thing, I just think it's needs to be improved/lowered. Have a mod have to approve of a newbie's posts until they've reached 5 posts and then they can have a regular account.
Do the mods have a plan to get this board back on it's feet or are they just going to let it die?
I've joined this board for a reason and I plan to stay here until it dies (if it gets to that point). I'd be willing to be a mod if we ever did get rid of the restricted accounts. I'm here to help.

Thanks for the info as I just joined today. Chose this site because I have used it a lot for learning on how to get started. Wondering if some of these guys speak the truth though as there are not a lot of response posts.

I agree with the settings put on place, even though i would prefer to be able to use the site fully straight away, I am fed up of the amount of spam etc I have experienced in other forums (not training related)

I do like the ideas of cutting spam. As I cannot access most other bodybuilding sites at work this was a great alternative. I was redirected here searching google for supplement recommendations.

However being limited to such features most other sites had, as mentioned earlier, is a bit discouraging. Yall run a great forum here but I believe a heavily modded site would be less discouraging for new posters such as myself.

I was beginning to wonder if all posted were modded. I hope these 10 days go by fast so I can get my journal going a lot quicker.

I respect the regulations but I don't like 'em!

I think restrictions to new member is a good thing, but as with everything else in life, in moderation. It prevents people from posting stupid things and never coming back and people posting ads for pills that make you gain 1000% muscle in 3 hours.

I wish the waiting period was shorter (but that is because I am still going through it).
