Default New Guy Here

Saying hi to everyone. I've noticed that this looks like a good and friendly community with good information being passed on. I'm from Ohio but as of right now i'm in the army. I'm sure there are a lot of former military around here. However I get out of the army in 2 weeks after doing 4 years and I'm very excited. I used to lift very frequently and actully was getting decently big and then i got deployed for a year. I got back from that about a year ago and have just recently within the last month started back up hitting the gym hard. I had lost just about everything from being deployed so it was a little discouraging however i'm getting back to form. I just started taking no-xplode and cell-mass with amplify protein. Not sure what everybody thinks about those supplements. I take 2 scoops of xplode right before a workout and then a scoop of cell mass after workout and right before bed and i usually take about 2 protein shakes throughout the day. I'm 6-1 about 230 so I can afford to lose about 15 pounds which is my goal. I eat pretty healthy but not so much into vegetables at all. Nice to meet everyone and hope to get some good information. Thanks

I thought people who got deployed had nothing better to do than work out?

Well it all depends on a few things. A lot of people have nothing better to do than to workout. I unfornately was at a tiny tiny FOB (foward operating base) in sadr city, baghdad. Being an 11B (infantry) we were constantly patrolling, raids, traffic checkpoints, etc... so it didn't leave much time to work out. Plus being in that heat wearing all your stuff you shrivel up a lot and eating MRE's half the time isn't exactly the best workout food. So if you get a lot of down time, live at a decent base, get a good chow hall, and have an easy job within the army than you'll love being deployed most of the time. I didn't get so lucky my time around though but that happens.
