Smile twice a day

all -

i'm new to "body building" and am having a great time - plus i'm seeing results. these forums are a lot of help and a great motivator.

i don't plan on doing this, but what is the deal with working out twice a day? does it help or does it hurt? which aspect of people working out should do this, if anyone?

curious in kauai

Don't do it. Unless you mean cardio in the AM and weights in the PM. I didn't know anybody did weights twice a day, apart from people roided up to the eyeballs and maybe pro sportsmen (so same thing really )

On the assumption that those workouts have volume and intensity, training twice a day for most of us would lead us to over train.

Once you start over training, you pretty much reverse what you have done in the gym and you experience muscle break down, reduced protein synthesis, weakened immune system to name a few.

People new to bodybuilding dont really need much to stimulate muscle growth but a lot of beginners tend to think more is better and limit their gains by doing too much.
