to start with get some dumbells and weights, that'll do you for a while 'cos there're lots of exercises you can do with just dumbells...then as you get used to them you should start to get other stuff...

yeah a bench is a good way to go, you could bench press then but you'd also need a barbell and heavier weights....

btw just in case you hadn't already been told, there're 3 main compound moves you need to do to grow quickly - bench press, deadlift + squat

IMO you should go to the local gym, just pick a time when it's empty or something - I used to lift at home and got used to the weights really quickly and had like a year without progress as a result - a gym's the way to go...
plus, stick in the name of your town on google, I thought there was only 1 gym in accrington then I googled it and found like 20 lol

Good luck, Alex

First of all Welcome.

Working out home can have its advatages and disadvantages. Dedication is the key role. Start off with a diet first, get you body ready for the 6 meals a day, You are going to need all the protien you can get.

Not sure how your funds are but start off with some DB as Howard stated you can do alot of excersises with DB mix in the bench for sure, Try to get one that can incline and decline.

Also when you get the time scope out a gym nearby. It is defintley a must, you can always workout early in the morning when there is less people there, and not so crowded, that way you can get in and out.

Good luck with you goals and accomplishments.!!!!

Hey Steve. I was very skinny starting off 2.5 years ago. 9 and 1/4 and now im 11 and 1/4. As the lads said above and a good diet but more importantly Patience, it will come just stick with it

The diet is most important. The second thing is that you need to work your legs. You will be amazed at how strong your upper body will actually get by working your legs.
