Default Help, can't swallow pills?

This is my first time posting, love the site.

I'm 25 and just got back into working out and am running into problems with supplements. I have a throat condition which seriously hinders me from swallowing normal size pills. Most of the pills I've come across are entirely to big to go down. I just purchased a bottle of Lipodrene and have been crushing up the pills. A friend of mine mentioned that some of the ingredients in thermogenic/weight loss pills are supposed to metabolize in your stomach and can cause damage to your esophagus if broken up.
He is not an expert and doesn't pretend to be, but I would like an answer before continuing to use the product like I have. Also, is there an alternative thermogenic liquid based product that you would recommend if I need to discontinue my usage?

Thanks,
Don
