Frustrated with lack of body fat loss
I'm 53 and have been lifting for about 15 years. I was 250 lbs Feb. of '03. I hired a trainer to help with my diet, because I wanted to compete at least once before I was too old and needed a walker to go on stage. By Aug. of '03 I had lost 48 lbs. and was at 5 % body fat. I went on to win the Masters in the local competion. The winter of '03 I went back to college to change career fields and was in a motorcycle accident which provided me with a compound spiral fracture of the tibia and fibia. I ended up with a rod down the tibia and a plate in my ankle. This hasn't stopped me. I continued my education and finally got back to the gym. Exactly one year from the date of the accident, to the hour, I was back on stage in a competion in Tampa. Altho I feel successful in having gotten back in shape to have even gotten on stage, I was not at the 5 % BF I been able to get to before. I came in around 7-8 %. I came in 4th out of 5 competetors.
I have no limitations due to my previous injuries. I still squat 360 lbs, do an hour of cardio 5 days a week, etc. All of my food is weighed, documented and adjusted as needed, but I haven't been able to get my body fat down. I'm presently at about 11 %. At 223 lbs. I haven't found an effective fat burner.
I'm all natural so no steroids. I'm tried of spending money on stuff that doesn't work. Has anyone found anything on the market that actually works. Any help will be appreciated. I would really like to do the Southern States Competion in July.
