Unhappy withdrawal symptoms

Hi guys, I have always had an interest in bodybuilding and have done weightlifting 2 -3 times a week and cardio twice a week, I have decided to take it a bit more serious and one thing I have done recently is started eating "clean' foods and have cut out things like fizzy drink and lollies, fast food and all that bad stuff.
what I am finding is after 3 days I am really struggling, i am getting really bad headaches and cravings, I cant believe my body is missing all that bad stuff so bad, has anyone else experienced this? and if so how did you manage.
even though I feel really tired, stressed and cranky im going to keep it up im sure it will pass, the results should be worth it.

Personally I had no problems with the decision to go "clean" with my food. You will quickly find out that eating clean food will give you more "stable" energy throughout the day. Everytime you look at some junk food just remember that the insulin spike you will get will take any un-needed calories and turn them into fat. Eat food that will keep your insulin stable. The only time you may need that spike is after a workout and you'll need to chase it with a protien shake.

If you truely have made the decision to eat clean then get used to the cravings. Once you get going, cheating once and a while helps curb the pain...heh.

Good luck and you can do it.

There are all kinds of thing you can do to trick you mind and body.

I dont really struggle with cravings but my ole man does.

So I trick him with alternatives. Sugar free pop-cycles for example.
I also buy this drink @ wal-mart that taste exactly like koolaid.
We have three teenagers and non of them know its sugar free.

Also, explore soy products. They make alot of stuff that taste great.

It took me months to get our diet where he was happy and didnt complain about eating healthy. But we got there. It just take investing the time to read, read, read. Both nutritional facts and labels at the store.

Take the extra time in the grocery and read labels you can find good stuff that tastes like its bad for you.

GOOD LUCK!!!

The main reasons cravings occur are a result of your body needing something which causes it, so if youve cut out alot of things it maybe youve also cut out something important which your body needs.

For example if you have cut out soft drinks etc... it maybe because of low sugar levels as your body is used to higher sugar levels, which may also explain headaches.

Try not to go clean straight, instead find a suitable substitute which you can over time reduce to a level which your comfortable with, just like when you quit smoking, if you quit straight away you feel like crap and get all sorts of problems, however if cut down the amount you smoke its easier and you can eventually quit.

Try zigzaging your diet, have 3 days clean 1 day off or something similar.

What I do is diet mon-fri, and not give a damn on the weekends. That way I dont get the cravings as Ive eaten what I wanted and Im also psychologically chilled out. This way you can also reduce your overall calorie intake and hopefully see some good results.

Oh, I hear you. I am still drinking the soda pop it is hard to quit. The soda has helped me with my urges to smoke. I have been smoke free for about 9 months now and the soda pop drinking seem to take some of the edge off. So I guess I am better off drinkin than smoking. As far as quiting the junk food goes cold turkey is hard I agree but that was the only way that I could give up ciggaretes. If you don't go cold turkey just try to make your pop last longer like don't chug it all right away.
