Default frustrated

im a naturally skinny guy, right now im 5'8" about 163 lbs. over the past few years i have added 20 pounds of mass (used to be 140!!). i eat like a horse, good clean foods. i try to get 3000 - 4000 calories a day. having trouble bulking up, also get frustrated with body fat, it only exists right around my waistline, nowhere else. when i add calories i stress about getting too fat, and i change my routines to cut. however, when i cut calories and do cardio, i lose weight in all the wrong places, my shoulders, legs, neck and chest. never burn any fat off my waistline. would like to be 175 - 180 pounds and cut my body fat. i want to bulk, but i want the washboard abs look. any suggestions would be great.

also, used a cycle of winny to add several pounds to my frame, had awesome results. however, i was packing in 3-4000 lbs of good foods a day, didnt really cut any abdominal fat.

hello there Kev. By the sounds of it your the type of person who can eat loads of crap and still be skinny (lucky?). Unlike me I put fat on very very quickly. I used to be 16 stone worth of fat at the age of 19. After three years of training I am 14 stone with a fat percentage of 9% which isn't too bad.
What you need to do is stop cardio!! My suggestion is bulk up using weight gainer protein and do heavy weights with 5-8 reps (during this period eat plenty of protein). You will see yourself bulking up even if you haven't got any muscle definition (because there is layers of fat over your muscles, but more importantly the muscles are there). You should carry on with this for at least 6 months!! Once you are big enough integrate an intense cardio workout at least once a week (oh and keep lifting them heavy weights and take plenty of protein). Forget jogging, I find sprinting full pelt at 1 minute intervals is great. In simple terms, how many skinny 100m sprinters do you see? Oh and by the way, trying to bulk up and conducting long distance running is a waste of time and effort, believe me. In simple terms again, how many bulky long distance runners do you see?

Kev, one of the reasons you have problems is that you do not have that much muscle! You said that when cutting you loose weight from shoulders, legs, neck etc.
1--Forget about cutting, add as much muscle as you can to your frame, and that in return will help you loose fat as your metabolic rate increases!!!!

2--Never drop you food intake under 2000cal/day even when cutting!

3--You did a cycle of Winstrol, don't bother with it again! Not for you right now or in the future unless you thinking about competing.
The only way to get to 180 lbs is to gain muscle not keep cutting.
4--If you are into steroids do a bulk cycle of Deca/test or Eq/test or just test by itself. I'm assuming that you will do your homework and know what to do!! otherwise stay away from them.

Look at the big picture to shoot for:
to get to 180lbs lean , you must be about 200lbs solid then start to watch your diet and cut slowly, very slowly so not to lose muscle in the process.
I"m 6 ft and started at 165lbs over 10 years ago and managed to put 75lbs of muscle on. It was on and off for all this time, body building was not my #1 priority and I do not think I will ever compete, I could have done it quicker (if I was serious) but never the less it is doable. Much of what you are saying I went through myself. Good luck

i appretiate the quick response, i didnt expect anyone to reply that soon. as of now i have completely cut out the running, i get my cardio with supersets. i cant promise to stay away from steroids, the winny felt great, my muscles felt nice and hard. deca will be next.
need to do more research on deca though, or any other roids to achieve my goals. i know some people are against drugs, but im not, so if anyone has any advice for someone who is going to use them anyway,,,shoot.

as for now im going to stick to my training and consume 3-4k calories per day. now if i could only stay away from the guinness on saturday nights i would be much better off.

Well, do you research and if you need help ask. Deca is a good steroid, BTW,
