Hi all! New member here.
My primary goal for joining these forums is to learn to live a healthier life through diet and exercise. I certainly could use it. It seemed that injuries would plague me for the longest time and each time I started working out, a new injury would appear. I've had 5 knee surgeries (mostly from football and soccer) and damaged my ulna nerve. Pinched nerve and torn tendons didn't help me out too much either. Recently I have been looking to get back into an exercise program doing cardio and weight training. I am hoping to learn enough on these boards to be able to lose 80lbs safely. I have two things going for me (i think). When I do start exercising, my metabolism speeds up and I tend to lose weight rather quickly (it's just keeping up the exercise that has hurt me in the past). The other thing is starnge and I don't know anyone else with the same issue as me, but I tend to grow muscle faster than most people. My PT said it's very rare to be able to do that. With that being said, my downfall is that I am extremely overweight. It has been a very long time since I was able to continue with a steady workout program. I have been unable to play sports due to my knee problems and I love food (especially pasta). Today I found this web site and read through a variety of posts and decided to finally kick myself in the butt and get to business. I am going to learn how to eat healthier and take better care of my body. I am hoping I found the right place to learn from. I look forward to reading more and posting some myself.
