Alright I just got done lifting and I got 235 up four times on deadlift. I think this was my best dead lift day ever. I really felt it in my back and legs like never before cause of the heavier weight.

alright i havent posted in a couple months in this but i thought i might met everyone know whats going on with my training. Since my recent signing with a D1 college for track my training was altered completely from what i was doing.

I will be lifting 3 days a week and also running. i am currently on a few week go at raising my level of fitness in terms of long distance running and endurance. after that each week i will be doing repeats and sprint work, ranging from 60 meter repeats to 1000 meter repeats. after a few weeks of that i take a week and a half off or so of doing nothing. then I will gp hard at it again until 2 weeks before track workouts and school start in september rasing my level of fitness once more while working on footspeed.

All the while of doing this i will be lifting for muscle strenght and endurance. much size wont be put on becaus eof the running obviously, but i will be getting stronger. The idea is to be as strong as possible while putting on as little size as possible and the body fat low as one person states.

should be a fun ride. I cant really put on here what im exactly doing but I'll post some stuff.

if anyone didnt know im training for middle distance. 800's mainly.

****Also if there are any other students out there who are in track and would like to do workouts over the summer I can help you with some stuff so you can come back next year great.****

Even though the training (middle distance for track) I am doing is not body building I figure i will keep my log still as some of you might still be interested in progress and training of a college track athlete.... My weight lifting will consist of low reps right now. never going over 6 for compound lifts squat and bench etc...the reps get switvhed up later in this program.

Tuesday ran 30 minutes then did squats.

Wednes day did upper body. Bench. BBrows. pull ups. curls. tri ext. and core training.

Today (thursday) I ran for 40 minutes. working on a solid base right now before speed work begins.

the end of the summer will leave me with a sub 5 mile. how far under im not sure. real target right now he has for me is to lower my 400 time to assist me in my 800. my 400 is a wek spot as i am a 800/1600 runner. a better 400 will help me vastly.

Amen to that, in fact, i'm starting now with trying to improve my 100m to eventually have a faster 5k during my next sprint tri.

Good luck crushing 5 minute miles.
