TKD, you realize thats about a 2 year old pic right?

Starting pics are going up in a second. I'm 208lbs as of right now, due to glycogen and water loss (from caffeine). I hate being hungry and I find myself more tired even if I didn't workout.

Anyways, here's my workout today. I didn't lose a whole lot of strength although I did have a not quite diet-ish meal beforehand (Call it a cheat meal. Waffles, and sausage along with milk). I'm expecting things to get rolling once I am able to do cardio more frequently. I've only done it twice this week.

Workout:
DB press
85X6
95X8
95X7
100X6
100X5

Incline
65X8
65X7
65X5

Push Presses
135X7
135X6
135X4

Seated extensions
4X8
5.5X7
6.5X6

Extensions
7X8
7X8
8X6

Funny thing was I also do cable flies, just because I like the pump. I worked in with some smaller kids and they asked me something about getting big off of flies. I replied "No, I just do these for fun, I like the pump and I'm not trying to get big off of them"
To which one guy said "What, you're big enough already?"
I said "Nah, there are just better movements to get big off of"
Turned into a 15 minute conversation, and once i mentioned I personal train, I got myself a new client Funny how things work out.

I'll try to take pics every other day. I anticipate dieting for a month to a month and a half.

I can already see some new veins, but til I start to see BF dropping, I'm not satisfied.

I actually have an off topic question,

I am curious about what it takes to be certified as a personal trainer. I have a bit of time between graduating from college and when I ship off to grad school to pursue my phd. I feel that being a trainer would be a good job to have, one that I would even have fun with.

So if you have any tips id appreciate it.

And I am sorry for jacking your log the comment just made it pop into my head.

Well you need to get certified first. If you are looking at getting hired by a particular gym, ask them and see what they are looking for. Most times a nationaly accredited certification in Personal Training is enough. Afaa is, IMO, one of the best ones to get. It might be expensive (I think my first cert cost around $500) but it's well worth it if you are willing to study and have some knowledge about lifting and diet. You can get paid anywhere from around $12 to $40 and up depending on where you work.

Just make sure to study. A lot of the stuff, expecially the parts about training older people and some of the kenetics, aren't very intuitive and you need to just study it like a class.

That is, if you want to work in a gym and be limited to what you can make. Go on your own and you can get started right away, get certed as you go along, increase prices as your reputation gets better, and hire trainers to work for you.

Just make sure you take care of the first few customers very well.

Pics will be up in a second.

Leg workout today. 5X20 hell.

200X23
185X20
185X20
175X20
165X20

35 minutes of high intensity cardio afterwards. I dunno how I managed it, but it was after I downed a quick whey shake. Cardio on the bike isn't that bad actually. Weighing in at 207lbs. Bicep veins are standing out more, as well as forearm veins. No real change in my stomach yet.

Reviving the old thread. Might as well start keeping track of my workouts. Still doing the PL thing for most my workout, and still trying to juggle class. One more year and I am out of here so when it comes down to it, it's class first. I have my diet under control (albeit not quite clean).

This workout was with 3 of my friends. They want to get into the gym and asked for my help. So helping them made my workout suffer, but I'll manage. I was kind of cherry picking exercises for back so I could get movements where form is really needed in early. If they are going to continue to come I want form drilled into their heads.

Back sans deadlifts.

Weighed in at 198lbs.

Pullups (wide)
+0X8
+10X6
+15X6
Closed
+15X6
+10X6

Felt good. I love pullups so it helps.

Lat pulldown
12X6
11X6
11X6
Closed grip attachment
12X6
12X6

Tbar
Still not sure, after 3 years, how much the apparatus weighs. Weights are plates added only.
90X8
115X6
135X6
I was more concentrated on showing form than lifting. One guy only managed a 25plate. The whole needing to bend over thing threw them for a loop.

BB curls
75X8
75X8
55X8 (reverse grip)
85X6 to failure.

Weight felt good. Did some interval training on the bike and called it a day. Didn't get enough food during the day (had a 3 hour stretch with solidworks), and was gassed early.

Tonight, chest.

One of my friends from the previous workout showed.

Bench
135X5
225X5
245X5
265X4
275X2
Blargh. Showed my friend form between the sets. He did 85lbs.

Dips
+45X6
+90X6
+115X5
At least I am still strong at dips.

Seated shoulder press
115X8
115X8
115X8
Dips beforehand made this fun.

Cable flies
No weights recorded. C'mon, it's flies. I just like the pump.

Abbreviated? Yes. Felt good? Yes.

Went to a fraternity function and now I am typing and reading. Easy night off, aside from eating a whole pizza.
