Light leg day... oh boy the fun

Squats
225X20
225X20
205X20
205X20

Went deeper than parrallel for most the reps. Felt good, especially on my back. Compression of the spine = feels good.

Hack Squats
300X10
300X10
300X10

It's funny because I found a way to utilize my hips on this machine. Made the last two sets VERY easy. But with my hamstrings beginning to tighten up it was still hard at the bottom of the rep. But now I know how to squeeze another plate or two out come heavy day.

Calf Raises (I needed a break lol)
220X8
260X8
240X8
(Single legged)
+80X5
+20X5

Oi

Leg press
6 plates X 6
5 plates X 12
5 plates X 10
5 plates X 12

Whew! Definitely a higher volume then I am used to. My quads REALLY hurt in a lactic acid kind of way. It felt like someone was pumping them full of maple syrup and they wouldn't contract very quickly. The good thing is the 3rd set of leg press really burnt out my quads and I could feel my hamstrings take over. Very cool

Down a 800cal shake of PB, 2% milk and whey (Fat and sugar, I know, blah blah) and here I am.

Chest!
I never fully woke up for this workout. My weights suffered

bench
225X8
265X5
Still half asleep.... although I think throwing around 265X5 half asleep is still ok

DB incline
100X6
100X5

Dips
New form, straight up and down as opposed to my usual lean at the bottom. Weights were very easy.
@ 204lbs
+45X8
+55X8
+65X8
Could have done more

Pushdowns
14platesX8
15 (Full stack) X6
15X6

I used the machine just after this elderly old man. He seemed kind of energetic and after I moved the pin from his 6 to 14 and repped it he looked down, looked at me and went "Whoa" and laughed. Haha

Flies
8X6
7X6
7X6

dips tie in nicely if you've just done chest, but do you think your pre-exhausted chest would fail before your tri's on this movement?

granted your position is more up right to hit the tri's more but did you feel your chest screaming for mercy lol?

Nope, I've never really felt dips in my chest, only in my triceps.

My triceps were screaming for mercy though. I got one of those painful pumps from doing them, twas fun

I might have to try those next chest workout (This coming wednesday? Maybe). I've never gone heavy on those before, somthing about stacking 100lbs on your crotch doesn't seem too tempting.

Tonight is going to be my back workout No deads unfortunately. Went to the chiro as I got some pain after deads and after feeling the spine for a minute she asked "Do you feel anything up here?" (Upper back) I said yea and she said "Figures, everything is out of alignment up here"

Oi :/

Yea, it sucks! She put it back in alignment and the upper part shouldn't come out again. The lower is a work in progress but it's getting better.

I told her I was going to lay off the deadlifts until she gave me the ok, she didn't even suggest it. She didn't say anything about my other exercises, and I am fairly confident it's only the deads screwing with me since sometimes I got after a heavy squat session and everything checks out. Bench rows dips and all that good stuff I am going to keep doing unless she says otherwise. Just no deads

Leg day

Squat
225X5
295X5
345X5
345X5

The 345's were solid but I dropped 10 pounds from my last workout.

Calf Raises
220X8
280X8
240X8

Hack Squats
340X5
380X5
400X5

400 was easy, making me think something is up with my squats, since thats a 20 pounds improvement over last workout. Go figure. 400 maxed out the machine too, so I can only move up reps now.

Chest day

Bench
225X5
245X5
275X5
275 was clean as ever I need to stop breaking my wrists and I will get an extra 5lbs or so on my lift.

DB Press
100X6
105X4
100X6

Burnt out from BP but I don't care

Dips
90X5
55X8
55X9
Still burnt out from bench. Plus, I fought for a 6th rep at 90lbs, and got stuck an inch or so from lockout for 15-20 seconds. It sucked, and it burnt me out even more.

Pushdowns
13X8
14X6
13.5X8

Cable flies
11X8
12X8

Downed 20oz or so of milk and whey. Going to eat soon.

I think my gains have been limited by my food (Dur). Today I ate constantly and before lifting I had chicken and potatoes, and coincidently I had one of the best workouts in a while. Coincidence? :P So needless to say I am going to eat more now. I'll snap a few pics tonight after my pump wears off.

Get outta my log, come back when you look more muscular than a girl scout little man

Haha, just kidding.

It's funny because I got my friend back into lifting and I wasn't sure how much weight he did. He started tonight and was doing 115lbs on bench I started talking about tucking his elbobs and some other stuff and I thought his head was going to explode. Then he had a laugh when I started getting loopy halfway through the workout like I always do.

Next step is, of course, 320lbs on bench So far I have been lifting weights that match a max rep chart, hopefully it's right since by a chart I can lift 320X1 at 275X5.

Nice numbers on your lifts there. You do know we consider you one of the "big" men here Anyone benching 300+ lbs can never be considered a lightweight. Keep up the good work. I do stop in here and see your numbers improving, but never posted anything.

The only thing missing from your routine is a solid shoulder workout, and maybe an exercise or two on the tri's. Might even mix up your BP where you do some wide-grip paused, and maybe try some db BP first, the hit the bb bench.

I see you found the secret to eating before working out.. your body loved that energy you fed it. Now that you've learned the secret, do tell theara or TRAZ!!

Thanks man, that post means a lot.

I usually do mix it up with DB press first and Shoulder presses thrown in there, but have stuck with bench as my lead off because I am making good gains, both size wise and strength (300lbs to 315lbs in a month).

I've been doing dips and pushdowns as tricep specific exercises, as well as a powerlifting style bench, is there anything else you would suggest?
