Making good progress Mitch, keep it up! What I found to work relatively well for me is to change my workout weekly once I start going heavy. I still do bench for example but do flat BB and incline DB, or do incline BB and flat DB. It seems that by changing my routine constantly, weights kept going up and made decent gains. Just food for thought if you get stuck

Thanks, im very happy with the squats as theyre coming along very good even before i started my current cycle. Bench gains have been slower and I have been stuck in the same rut for a while so maybe ill switch it around. I cant remember the last time i did flat db press or incline BB. Thanks for the advice Vas.

The reason I ask is because I have my cycle coming up in Jan and was wondering how you felt yours has helped you this time around. As much as your previous?

No problem. I hit 275x5 last week and my previous best was 275x3 in september. Also, my best of 250x8 was in july or august at the peak of my first cycle and then it dropped some after i was done to something like 235x8 but its back up to 255x8. So i guess around 10-15lbs since the start of my current cycle. I rarely max so i cant give it to ya in 1rm's.

Fist time around my bench jumped overnight like 25-30lbs real early in the cycle. it was crazy. slower gains this time. I am however starting to feel the pump and thats when it jumped last time. who knows maybe im in for a big breakthroug next time i bench.

No nor do I, I have actually never 1rm.

Im currently pushing towards 100kg on my fourth (final) set for BP, with three previous sets quite heavy so Im getting closer. Im sure I would be breaking that when on cycle, but would like to before I go on cycle and maybe make the 100kg may first set by the time I finish my cycle and pushing a bit more on my final set.

Making some nice progress mate as I read through.

How many weeks you into cycle?

If your nearing the 4 week mark I wouldnt be surprised if thats the case.
Big jumps in week 4 5 6 happen frequently, with your cycle I would imagine its just going to go up and up during these weeks.

I think it is essential to push hard on the cycle and harder off the cycle to maintain and improve gains. Many ppl make the mistake to really take it easy and lose gains made on cycles. Of course off cycle reduce the volume but keep that intensity and numbers in mind.

Yeah im not really sure why my lifts went down but im sure i kept all my muscle gains. It could be just mental. You know how when youre done and then you start to deflate and loose the pump you just start to feel not as strong. at least i did.
