Default It was time...Jen's Journal

Well, I decided that since I've been on this board for almost 2 years and I've never had a journal, it was time to actually make one.
I just never really did before because there was a time when anything anyone posted in here, someone would come in and say that they were doing things wrong, or shoot them down for something, and I didn't wanna be a part of that.
But now, I don't really give a crap if someone says stuff like that.

I'm never good with keeping track of this type of stuff, so I figured this was a place to do that, and to keep me in the mood...because lately I feel like I'm forcing myself to workout. I'm still doing everything as I normally do...but I used to get almost excited by training (as corny as that sounds), and lately, I just don't feel it.

Maybe it's the summer bug or something.

OK....so anyway....my posts are probably gonna be from the previous night's workouts because I do my cardio in the morning, and I do my weight training in the evenings.
I'd also like to point out that I'm pretty unconventional at times. Say if I don't have time for something one night, I'll throw it in later, or the next day or something like that.
Even to the point that I belong to two gyms because sometimes I'll go to the gym during my lunch hour if I didn't get to fit everything in the night before (that's a pain in the ass though, because then I have to shower and get back to work right after).

Blah Blah Blah....(have I mentioned that I talk too much sometimes?).
OK, so on with it.

My routine I guess is a push/legs/pull routine.
I usually do:
Monday - Push
Tuesday - Legs (I call this my light leg day - most of the focus is on my hams)
Wednesday - Off (maybe some cardio)
Thursday - Pull
Friday - Legs (This is my more intense leg day)
Saturday and Sundays are usually rest days...although I find that Saturday mornings I like to go to the gym and just do some random crap.

Sooooo Yesterday:
AM-Cardio - 15 min. HIIT on Treadmill

PM-Pull (Back and Bis)
Oh btw...I used to do a lot of supersetting type of work, so I'm not used to resting much between sets and exercises, so I usually just go right from on thing into another and bang my workouts out pretty quickly.

(And I don't wanna hear anything about my volume or rep count either...LOL)

Lat Pull Down - 70lbs x15, 80lbs x10x8

Straight Arm Pull Downs - 40lbs x12, 50lbs x8x6

Seated Rows - 70lbs x12, 80lbx x10x8

BB Bent Rows - 50lb x12x10x10

1 Arm Rows - 30lb DB x10x10x8 - each arm

Pull Ups (hahaha...I'm bad...I have to do these assisted still, but getting better) - 3 sets of 10

Face Pulls - 30lbs x15, 40lbs x12x10

Upright Rows - 20lb DB x12x10x8

Bicep Curls - 20lb DB x15x12x12

Hammer Curls - 20lb DB x12x12x12

I get so confused with when to do my Deadlifts. I used to do them the same day I did squats-but that was too much, and then I started doing them on my pull days, but the past few weeks, I haven't been, and I've been putting them as one of the things I do on Saturday mornings...I'll probably wind up changing it again back to my pull days. Grrrrrr. But for now, they get done Saturday.

HaHaHa....holy sh!t...I just scrolled back up through this post, and it's pretty long.
Well, I had to give an explaination for the first post, so the rest of them won't be this long.

WTF with the volume and rep counts on this??

Just kidding Jenny. Nice to see a log from you. It's interesting to see how others train and by your pics you've made good progress.

Thanks guys.
I'm hoping that this will be the thing to keep me motivated.
I really do like working out, and I love the way I feel afterwards, I just have to push myself lately to ACTUALLY do it.
So, maybe this is the catalyst that I needed.

Thanks guys!

K, well, I left work a little early today....just because.
Well, really it was because I'm not feeling that great, and it was nice out, and it's Friday, so I wanted to leave.

And...for those that don't know, I was in a car accident over the weekend (not my fault), but I found out today that the damages to my car are $5,700.00. Jeeez...I didn't think it was that bad. Oh well.

Anyway, since I left work early, I decided to do my workout early too.

So, today's workout:

AM - Cardio, 15 minutes, HIIT treadmill

PM - Legs:
Squats - 125lbs x12, 145lbs x8, 165lbs x6 (The first 2 sets I went all the way down...last set, I went as low as I could...LOL)

Leg Press - 235lbs x12x10, 245lbs x8

Hack Squats (Decided to throw them in here) - 165lbs x12x10x10

Lunges (reverse) - 125lbs x10x8x8...I was getting pooped.

Standing Calf Raises - 185lbs 20 toes in, 20 toes out, 20 toes forward

Butt Blaster - 100lbs each leg x15, 115lbs each leg x12, 125lbs each leg x10

I don't know what the hell this machine is called, but you stand up, put your leg on the pad, and do these kick back things (for your butt, you can also do inner and outer thighs too)....anyone know what this is? Anyway....I'll call it:
Butt Machine - 120lbs x12 each leg, 135lbs x10 each leg, 135lbs x8 each leg

Core Work:
Leg Raises on the bench (with an 8lb weight between my feet) 3x25
Hanging Leg Raises - 3x15
Rope Crunches - 45lbs 3x15
Decline Ab Bench Twists (LOL, yeah, I don't know what to call these things) - 12lb DB in hand, 30 twists x 3
Back Extensions - 20lb DB 1x20, 1x15, 1x10

Man...typing all this up takes a long time.

Way too much volume, and your reps are all wrong.

On a more serious note, its about time you started keeping a log. Thanks for contributing to the bb4u content!

OK, so today I went to the gym, and didn't really know what to do...LOL.

So, I did:

Deadlifts - 115lbs x12, 135lbs x8, 155lbs x8

I decided to do some GHR's too, since there was this whole thread devoted to them.
GHR's - 3 sets of 6 - no weights.

Then I did some Elbow Planks, or bridges, or whatever you wanna call them. - Did 3 for 45 seconds each.

Then I went ahead and did some sissy cardio workout.
Idunno what's up, maybe my leg workout yesterday, maybe the deads today, maybe the fact that I haven't been feeling good...but my body just felt like rubber, and I started running, but then I stopped.

(You ever feel like you have chlorine water in your nose, except you haven't gone near the pool? Well that's kinda how I feel. Maybe it's allergies or something).

Cardio - I put the incline on 4.0 and walked for 20 minutes at 4.5mph.

Pfffft. That sucked.

Nice to see that you have joined all of us that "bare ourselves" by starting a journal here Jenny! Always nice to see another person's workouts to see if there is something in them that I can steal or try. Welcome to the party girl
