Hey All...yup, I disappeared for a little bit again, sorry....I'm a darn slacker.
Not really...I've just been extremely exhausted lately and it's hard for me to even keep my eyes open. And it's the end of the quarter at work, so that's always a busy time. Anyway...I don't think anyone really knows this (well, maybe just one person) - but I'm having a baby, so that's the reason why I've been so tired lately. I'm about 3 months along, and I can't wait to get over this hump so I can get some of my energy back and get back to actually training. I had cut the intensity of my workouts down significantly when I first found out, but I was still TRYING to get through them all...but the past week, it's just been tooo hard. I think it all finally caught up to me, and all I have the energy for is my cardio in the mornings. (Even last week, all I could muster up was to do 3 low impact full body workouts throughout the week). So, I've been walking at 4.5mph for 20 minutes each morning, but by the time I get home from work (when I usually do my weight training) I just want to sleep. Add that to the fact that I already have my son at home, it's just too exhausting for me to do anything else. Those of you that know me know that it's really irritating me that I can't train...so I can't wait til the 4th month (when you usually get some of your energy back) so I can at least hit the gym, even doing low intense circuits or just lowering the weights and continuing with my routine. I already have my routine panned out to do as soon as I'm done being prego, and I think it's going to get me some really good results...so I'm also looking forward to that. Well, I'll keep all of you guys posted, and I'll start actually working out again soon...promise. I'm actually going to do some cardio right now. (Oh, and I'm getting fat...and I HATE it) Last edited by jennyd; 03-22-2008 at 06:46 AM. |

Congratulations Jen. That is awesome. I can't believe you're preggo. I'm so happy for you and I missed you. So, when is the due date? I'm sure you'll love to have a little girl! Don't worry about getting fat cause I know you, you'll be in the gym the day you give birth probably.

Congratulations Jen! Are you excited? I got a kid coming in June. (It's a boy!) From what I understand, you should be taking it easy the first several months anyways. But after a while, like you said, you will be getting you energy back and exercising will be a blessing. It will make your pregnancy so much easier and less stressfull on the body. Make sure you go out and buy some of the Shae Butter Cream? for your tummy. I think that's right. It helps to prevent stretch marks. Rub it on your breasts too. My baby's mamma went from a small B to a D and she puts that cream all over any body area that is going to get large daily. Plus it makes you real soft. OK, so if that wasn't too creepy, good luck! Is this your first? Maybe you already know that. Oh well.

Thanks all...I'm excited, and kinda hoping it's a girl.
Ryan, thanks for the advice...I do already have a son. He's 7, so it's going to seem like I'm brand new at this whole thing again anyway....and yup. I'm a huge fan of that Palmer's coco butter stretch mark cream. I have not one single stretch mark from my son, and I gained alot of weight. So, I've already started with that. You guys might think I'm crazy, but I've decided to try and do this P90X training (I don't know if any of you have heard of it), but since I have most of my energy in the am right now, I'm going to do my routines in the mornings before work...low intensity when I need to of course. But, this P90X program is a 12 disc program that has a different routine each day, and you keep doing the 12 discs for 90 days. I'll be doing it all at home...and if and when I can go to the gym, I will...but for now, I'm going to try this P90X. The basis of the program is muscle confusion. So, we'll see how that works for me now. If any of you know about it, or want to check it out, I've heard some really good stories about it. My sister's husband is doing it now and he loves it, so each day I'm borrowing a different dvd from him, and I'm going to do the workouts in the morning. So, I'll try it, and if I can't do it, I can't do it....but I think I'll be ok, because I'm in really good physical condition right now. So, if it becomes too intense, I'll just lower it where I need to. (I think I'm going to have difficulty with the extreme plyometrics routine...but, I'll try). |

Jenny! Do you realize how many women would kill to have a body like you have in those shots?
Jesus woman! Congratulations and I am wishing all the blessings in the world. I am sure your dedication to this lifestyle will pay big dividends in the upcoming months and after the child is born! Muah! Best of luck "MOMMA"!

Thank you to all of you.
I think I'll be better when I'm just really big and round. Right now, I just feel like a chubby girl. You guys have to know that this is killing me. But, I'm going to aim to be the fittest pregnant chick around...LOL. I hated being pregnant my first time around. I just don't think I'm one of those women who embrace it and have that 'glow'. I would have had 10 kids already though if I could have found a few surrogates....haha. I guess it didn't help much that when I was pregnant with my son I had pre-eclampsia and my blood pressure shot up, and I gained so much water weight, I looked like a balloon. So, it wasn't a very good first experience. I'm taking really good care of myself (not that that helped the last time) and I'm hoping that nothing like that happens this time around. Again....thank you everyone. |

I have p90x too...I haven't actually finished 12 weeks, but I tried. LOL I did three weeks, then stopped, then two weeks...then stopped. I seem to have problems with follow-thru. I think it's a great program. Be careful though girl, that plyo dvd is all jumpy...I liked it, but I'd be worried to do it preggos. Just be sure to modify it to suit your needs. BTW congratulations girly!
