I think I was also bored with my routine....I think I need more intensity or something.

Anyhow.
Today:

AM -
Cardio - HIIT, 12 minutes on Treadmill

Now -
Cardio - 30 Minutes on Elliptical Machine

(I'm not acutally doing it right now, but I'm leaving to go do it now. I was supposed to have a meeting with my boss, but his schedule got backed up, and now it won't be til later on today, so I'm gonna go to the gym and hit the elliptical machine).

See Ya!

OK, so back at work now...

I've had an epiphany...LMAO...I don't think I used that word right.

Anyway, I just really love summer.
I've never been a makeup person and I hate to fuss with my hair, so during the summer it's so great!
I just shower, moisturize, and go.

In the winter time, I usually blow dry my hair because it's too cold to go outside with it wet, and then because I hate the way people look in the winter (especially myself), I will usually dust on a little bronzer on the cheeks and every once in a while, wear mascara.

But since summer is here, I don't have to do any of that. I leave fresh faced with my hair wet, and I love it.
The only thing I need is my lip gloss and a ponytail holder.
Granted, I may still look gross, and people are probably saying that I should put some makeup on or do my hair, but F Them....I don't care.

Hey...I should probably get the hell out of NY since I hate the winter so much...I need to move somewhere where it's warm all year round, and I can look like a natural piece of crap all year round.

AND...you may be wondering why I'm rambling on about this, but I've reached this epiphany because I just showered after the gym (which I hate doing because people skeeve me out...but you gotta do what you gotta do).

So, there ya go...my ramblings for the day!

My most comfy outfit indeed!

But for real....I went to work yesterday in flip flops...and shorts and a tank top....I'm taking this laid back approach to the extreme. LOL.

What's up everyone!!!
I've decided to dust this little b!tch off and start maintaining it again....just to keep me honest and on track.

OK since I last updated a journal, I've changed routines a few times, and my strength has increased significantly.

But, recent circumstances are going to require me to take it a little easier for a bit.

(oh, I broke my finger in early Jan. - my middle finger on my right hand - and that seriously f'd with my training - I had to get straps to do most of my pull work. It's still all jacked up, but at least I can use it more now).

I'm working on a new routine that I will probably start next week or maybe the week after, but for the past few weeks I've kinda been bustin my ass. I've been doing cardio twice a day (not crazy amounts though...usually a 15 min. jog before work, and then about 20 min. on the eliptical after weights or in the evening if I don't do weights).

I've also been doing a very light full body workout one day a week, a heavy leg day, a push day, a pull day, and a light leg day.

For those that don't know me, I'm kinda big on volume...and I'm a little neurotic when it comes to training.

For Example, This week was:

Monday:
Cardio - 15 min. AM
Heavy Legs/Abs
(I don't have the exact amts in front of me)
Leg workout consists of -
Squats, Leg Press, Hack Squats, SLDL, GHRs, Pull Throughs, Calves
Ab work consists of -
Rope Crunches, Hanging leg Raises, Hammer Strength Ab Machine, Seated Leg Raises w/DB between feet
Cardio - 20 min on elliptical

Tuesday:
Cardio - 15 min. AM
Full Body work (all weight is very light - 2 sets of each, 12-15 reps) - leg work is minimal, besides a little hip and some booty work.
Cardio - 20 min elliptical

Wednesday:
Cardio - 15 min AM
Push Day, which consists of-
Bench Press, Incline Press, RG Bench, Military Press, Chest Flys, Bent Lateral Raises, Standing Lateral Raises, Dips, Skulls
Cardio - 20 min Elliptical

Thursday:
Cardio - 15 min. AM
Pull Day, which consists of-
Deads, Lat Pulls, Face Pulls, Straight Arm Pull Downs, Seated Rows, One Arm Rows, Bent Rows, Upright Rows, Pull Ups, Biceps curls (concentrated curls and hammer curls)
Cardio - 20 min. elliptical

Friday:
Cardio - 15 min AM
Light Legs - Hamstring and Hip work, Lunges, Leg Press (light weight, 3 sets of 20 reps)
I've been ok with doing these the day after my back work because it's a pretty light workout for me.
I was super tired though yesterday, and skipped my cardio after.

Today:
Cardio - 25 min AM (5 min. walk, 15 min jog, and 5 min walk to cool down)
Core work w/stability ball. Consists of Crunches, Russian Twists, Hand/Foot pass, hypers, reverse hypers, roll outs...and a little more booty work.

Currently all the sets/reps that I do are between 3 and 4 sets and the reps range from 8-15. I usually increase the weight after each set and do less reps. Sometimes my last set of something will be a low amount of weight and I'll just push out 15-20 reps.

Next week I'll start to document the weight/reps/sets of my workouts. But I'm going to be decreasing the weight that I normally use and probably increase the reps. I may change my routine a little too, meaning that I'll change my split a tad, and probably tweak some of the exercises that I do.

Anyway...my diet's been decent. Some days are a little better than others, but I'm never really too strict with myself. I basically eat pretty clean and eat the same things all the time, with a snack or some goodies when I feel like it. But, I'll probaby start getting a little bit more strict with myself and my diet for a bit now.

OK, I know that this was a super duper long post, but I just wanted to give everyone an idea of what I've been up to and give you an idea of my workouts.

Hey Nite and KT...Good to see both of you too.
I've just been keeping busy and hadn't had any time to come in.

I figure, if anything, updating my journal will at least give me a reason to come in here regularly and post my workouts and then browse around the forum a little.

Anyway... I took yesterday off (as I normally do). Sundays in our house are called 'Sunday Family Fun Day'. So we played outside on our scooters yesterday and then went to this indoor amusement park called the Fun Zone.

Today, so far, I've only done my 15 minutes of cardio.

I'll come back in later and post the rest once I do it.

But right now, I gotta get the boy ready for school.

Later Taters.

Hey Amy...thanks for checking in. Hope everything is going ok for you these days.

I just got back from my evening workout. I did my legs, but starting this week, I'm decreasing my weights and upping the reps, while decreasing my rest time.

Right now, I really can't go super heavy with my routines, so this is why I've decided to do things this way.

So:
Leg Press
208lb x 20
228lb x 20 x20 x 15 ------------>The machine I was doing the Leg Presses on, had a starting weight on it, so even if you put no plates on the machine, you would be doing whatever the startup weight is....I just added that with the plates I put on the machine.

SLDL
80lb x 15 x 15 x 15

Hack Squats
100lb x 20 x 20 x 15 x 15

Pull Throughs
40lb x 20 x 20 x 15

Calf Press
210lb x 20 x 20 x 20 x 15

Quad Extensions
50lb x 20 x 15 x 15 x 10

Light Ab Work

20 min on elliptical machine

Meaningless Banter:
I gotta say that I sweat a lot more during this workout than I have in a long time, even though I feel like I didn't really do as much work as I normally do. I guess it was all in the way I was doing it.

I was talking to one of the trainers at the gym tonight and he told me that I put him in a very uncomfortable position the other day.
He said that he had a potential female client that, when discussing her goals and what she was looking to accomplish, she pointed to me and asked him if he could make her look like me.
HaHaHaHa...that's just so funny to me.
He said to her, 'so basically, you want me to make you look like a fitness model'....bwahahaha...that part is even funnier to me.

I guess it was very flattering, but also very weird for me, so I just laughed at him and apologized for putting him in an awkward position.

So, anyway...just figured I'd tell you guys that cause I thought it was pretty funny.

LOL..no. He wasn't talking to me like that.

We exchange pleasantries whenever I'm there.

One time he had asked me if I was willing to be a trainer, and they'd get me certified.
I turned him down because I'm lucky to find enough time to train myself.
I just wouldn't be able to do that.

(Oh, and Ryan, I edited my post above for an explanation).

Great to see you back in here Jen. I can't believe you're doing all this with a broken finger. LOL Don't mean to laugh but just think about all the excuses some people have for not hitting the gym. Nothing can stop you.

I started out and read through your entire journal thinking it was all new . So a couple of comments coming up.

You posted a picture of your hamstrings earlier and said you don't like how they stick out of your jeans. For me, nice legs are a bigger turn-on and head turner than other flagrancies and from that picture, you certainly should be self-confident instead of self-concious about yours!

What are you current goals?

Regardless, best of luck!

I assumed as much. I was just joking around. It was ironic that BigMikeD's body weight was the same as your leg press. Wait a tick.. MikeD.... JennyD. Another irony.

Thank you though.
