Nice work KT! Congratulations on your stripe testing! I just promoted to Brown Belt 2 weeks ago. I too have changed my training as I have another competition coming up in September. Orlando this time!

20 minutes on the jump rope! Wow! I am happy that I can get through 10! You go girl. Nice to know that your Cardio is so good. Great work young lady...

I trip over the rope too KT. I am still working on switching my feet when I jump rope. I can do well on either leg, but switching back and forth always gives me fits.
I am hoping that my footwork improves since I still feel like I am rooted to the floor.

I absolutely hate running but I do it so that I don't get gassed when sparring. Also helps keep my BF in check.

20 mins of jumping rope is an absolute gasser! I max at about 10, even with those 30 second breaks after tripping. Anyway - great job.

HOLY MOLY ...I gotta vent. I think sensei has flipped his lid. Last night had us do 60 freakin lunges...30 each leg. Which isnt much if broken down into 3/10's but straight through..ugh! I was sorta irritate by it ,as tonight is testing for a large number of the class. I dont think it is fair to make them test with sore legs. I do have to confess that around 20 I got real sloppy. Most of that was in my head cause I got stinkin thinkin. in my head I was like WTF.......this is wrong....bla bla bla negetive negetive negetive. I just dont see the purpose of doing that high of volume if noone can complete wioth proper form.

Ok so on a side note....I FINALLY got to the chiropractor yesturday I feel like a mew women!!! I have had some issues for a year or so now and just have made it a priority till last week. We were practicing take downs and My head just barely tapped the mat , I mean just slightly, and I was sore in the neck for 3 days. this incident really scared me. As a few days after that we were lined up and one of the kids bumped into me ...i had a head ache for 2 hours from that. I typically wake up everyday hurting in my neck and back. So I broke down and went for an adjustment.

The cracking of my neck could be heard for blocks....but I feel SOOOOOO much better. I have an appointment for this afternoon for go over the xrays...and discuss treatment.... You know they say money talks...its amazing what a deal you can get when you pay cash...My husband is always saying "whats the CASH price" He saves us so much money like that. Cause every business owner loves to keep uncle sam outta the equation. We save $100 yesturday ...and as long as I pay cash on my normal visits it's 30 bucks. 15 minute massage and an adjustment...... works for me!!!!!

Just the piece of mind that I wont one day hit the mat and not me able to move my legs again. YOu gotta take this neck and back stuff serious...

Ok thats enough.........

Wow - 15 mins and an adjustment for $30? I'm gonna have to seek out a local chiro who can do that!

Good luck w/the test.

60 lunges - that sucks...

i have the absolute best husband in the world!......
He took my stepper to the shop and welded it for me, so its fixed. Its actually tighter than it was before.

AND

He got a treadmill for me.........its a weslo cadence......Im super excited to use it. When I told him about my stepper I mentioned i was kinda bored .....he was on a job today and the guy bought it for his mother and the mother didnt use it so he gave it to his girl friend and she didnt use it so he gave it to the ole man.

The only thing I need now is squat rack.....and Im all set. Actually i do need a couple dumbbells and a couple plates. But Im content withwhat I've been able to put together as far as a home gym . its all coming together nicely. Not too bad since i started with a couple dumbbells.

Im taking the day off from any training. Tonight I have to dress up like a penguin for the vacation bible school kids. 3 hours in that sauna suit. Thats enough sweating for me for one day. Plus my chest is kinda tight from weights in the morning then all the stuff we do in karate the evening.

So sparring last night, I got punched in the tit twice ...... I think the lil turd did it on purpose........i really dont dig sparring the lower ranks cause they have no control.

My sparring shoes are leaving blisters on my big toe. I think Im gonna cut out a lil piece to better fit my feet.

Bo staff training is so much fun....I love it until I wack myself with it. I'm have a bit of a struggle with the figure eights....basic bo.....I got my own bo now so I can take it out side in the yard. Practice, practice practice
