Squat form -
Not bad, good depth for sure, but I think you need to sit back more in the pocket, more on your heels and drive more thru the quads. Also, be careful of rounding your shoulders at the top

SLDL form -
Although your knees should be slightly bent, which they are, they need to remain in that same position from start to finish...You seem to be stretching or bending them more on the way down and at the bottom.
Also, you may need to slow the bar path a bit on the way down too...Overall, form looked OK to me

How old are you Meta?

thanks for the feedback

on squats, yeah I kinda had a feeling I need to put more pressure on my heels

and I always though that when doing SLDL's yopu lock your knees when you come up and just slightly bend them when going down, but I guess I was wrong or misinformed

I'm 22

Not bad for a 22 y/o. Not sure why I didn't see this before.
I keep my legs neutral the entire time.

thanks man

I'll take yours and BG's advice for next time I do legs

but regarding SLDL's... why the fvck do hamstrings stay sore for so long

I worked them out on Saturday and they're still sore today, not too bad... but they are a little still

no other muscle really stays sore for that long, I dunno what it is, every week my hamstrings are dead

2 Reasons
1. They're undertrained. Out of sight out of mind muscle. Until you go out of your way to focus on it, you probably never trained it before. The quads are usually overwhelmingly strong and keep the hamstrings from activating.

2. They're fkn huge. Bigger muscles stay sore for longer. And, there's really no way to take pressure off of them walking...

yeah, I never really hit my hamstrings until I started doing SLDLs which wasn't too long ago... except for leg curls... but that doesn't even count, I used to do those when I didn't really know what I was doing

so I guess that explains it...

There a wierd sort of machine that I can't really explain that you use for them (could use it for hypers as well) but I believe its basically like doing hyper extensions using your legs (bending at the knees in the up position and powering by extending the legs), that may be over-simplifying it. Everytime I do them I feel like I'm gonna get broke as hell because my feet are gonna come out of the pads.

Gotcha. Do you need a machine for them? I saw a video and it looks like its the eccentric movement that really works your glutes/hams.

Sorry, it's not a machine it's more like a mount. I basically call anything that isn't a bench, barbell, or dumbell a machine, usually incorrectly.

And technically, I think you could probably do them with some good leverage and a padded chair or something, but I haven't actually tried that so the mechanics might be complicated.

try some active rest, get the blood flowing to the muscle will reduce the amount of time your muscle stays sore, something like walking for 20mins will do and stretching will increase the blood flow as well.
