As TorontoMoFo has stated, great job on your transformation. Props to you for making the decision to take control of your diet and exercise routine. You are an example to anyone that thinks that weight loss and building muscle has short cuts. Great work. Keep at it!

most of my weight lifting has been done by machine...just stick the pin in, and lift...
the only reason i didnt do free weights for a wile is because i go to the gym on my own time..(being in college right now) i can go anytime i want..its hard to find a partner when my schedule is like it is... so with the machines i dont need a spotter and i do whatever i want... i dont have too many numbers for how many pounds i can lift... the only thing i remember is that during fall 2006, weighing about 275, i put up 225 for a bench max....just once... if i had someone to compete with, maybe my progress would be further along... but i think this website is a great start to charting my progress and taking in advice from others...thanks for the encouragement...it really makes me feel great about what im doing, and it keeps me wanting MORE OUT OF MYSELF... |

You don't need a partner/spotter for free weights but you also cannot (for obvious reasons) go till failure. You also don't need 'someone to compete with.' Enhancing you're body and improving it is well enough reason to attempt to give it my all. Edit - and the improvement thus far from you is pretty dayum good bro.

Well I decided to put a few more pics up. Even though my weight, 225, has stayed still for about a year now its seems, I'm still trying to get down to 200. I just finished a college cross country season (DIII) and I am currently playing for the basketball team as well. I stepped on the scale a few weeks back and saw 217 and couldnt believe it. I thought seeing that would start a chain reaction but it wasn't the case. I'm working hard every day, but I still have a huge appetite and that really kills all the work I put in. In college sometimes I'll eat great all day, but at night I'm eating processed/non fresh/sugary foods. I feel stuck, although I must say that my body feels great, and I do believe I am in very good shape, but I just want to continue improving and I don't know how to break this plateau???

Why lose more weight? The only fat I see on you right now is located around your waist/belly area. If you train harder and put on some more muscle I bet that fat would start to come off on its own and your body would start to take shape. You have made great progress but don't get carried away on the weight loss. The more muscle you have the more fat you burn, and that last bit is always the hardest to get rid of. Thats my two cents. Great job though.
