Default Before/After one month (very bad weight training.)

Im 16, 5.7 ft. Well my Before pic is of me not tensing to the max about a month ago before i started any kind of weights. The after pics of me tensing are after one of month of doing weights EVERDAY which i NOW KNOW is stupid, from reading alot about the subject. (still worked though?) Im now going to be just weight training twice a week and hoping the results will keep on improving.

Advice, tips, critisie, etc. All welcome please. (im not looking to get huge, just more deffined muscle and abit more bulk. Going for a Brad Pitt style body from fight club)

Some improvement...yes.
But anyone that just starts is going to see some type of improvement. Everyday? Every muscle group? Crazyness.
And, can I ask why you're only going to be training 2 times a week now?

Well i was doing it everyday after school for an 30 mins or so with no idea it was the wrong thing to do. Before that i trained (swam everyday) so i just guessed i could do the same with weights.

Twice a week now. From reading around these forums and over the bodybuildersforyou site amoung others, they all seem to be saying the same thing. Dont over work, rest is the most important thing, gyms that say work on your muscles 3 times a week are wrong... etc. So im trying twice a week see how it goes. Why, you thinking i should be doing more or less?

thanks

Well, I guess it depends what you're doing on those two days.

Are you doing some type of full body workout? Or are you doing an upper/lower split? Are you doing legs?

I would think you should train more than 2 days a week though.
I weight train 4 days/week. Plus I do cardio.
Overdoing it is bad, yes...but if you're doing some kind of push/pull/leg routine, or if you're doing something like a back, bis/shoulders, chest, tris/legs routine I would assume you'd need more than 2 days.

Maybe go and check out the beginners routine.
Again...I'm not sure what kind of training you're doing, so it's hard to give sound advice.

Well i run everyday if i can.

This is the first week of my 'twice a week lifting' but iv done it like this. Probably very wrong:

Whole upper body on one day, wait 3 days and then do legs. Oh i also do abs on upper and lower body day. MAIN thing is i dont even feel saw in my muscles two days after some heavey lifting. I feel i could do them every other day, but the experts are telling me to rest so im listening lol. I do 4 sets on each area. Each set untill i cannot continue with the weight. Normaly about varying from 6-15 reps. (i do it at home and only have 3 sets of weights so cant get the 8,8,6,6 reps routine exact. Mabie like 12, 10, 10, 8.

You think i should have two upper body days and two lower body days? And for abs?

thanks for help

I think if you're doing Upper and Lower, then you can do them both 2 days a week.
But I do think that doing your entire upper body in one day is a little much.
Maybe it's just me though. Do you work your back in with your upper body workouts?
