Default Advice needed....

Ive been weighlifting for just short of 4 years now, Im 6ft 2", I weigh about 205lbs.

After a year and a half of doing weights I took part in a show at my gym (my avatar picture), since then I haven't as I dont think I look very good.

Before I started doing weights I weighed about 160lbs, so in four years I have put on alot of weight.

I hold down a full time job and go to the gym 3 times a week (1.5hours each time).

I know alot of the theory behind doing weights, but sometimes I just dont think Im achieving what I want to achieve or look like I want to, here are some pics, any comments, bad, good or otherwise as long as they are constructive will be appreciated.

I think its my diet that needs improving, I dont eat breakfast then have a meal for lunch and a meal for tea, nothing inbetween, any recommendations please????

I probably made it sound like I dont eat in between at all.....my bad, on gym days I have a carb shake before the gym and then a protien shake after the gym.

I'd like to get to around 15 and a half stone at least because of my height, so I have another stone to go.

Still would appreciate any other comments and or advice on what things to eat that will do me some good.

I am also 6'2" with a similar frame

about 8 months ago I weighed 186lbs. Now, I weigh 225 with almost no visible bf increase.

All I did was re access my routine and clean up+ increase how much I ate

the vast majority of the weight is water but lean weight increase has been exeptional. I would guess 10-15 of the 40 lbs is new muscle (I believe this is possible because at the begining of the 8 months I began deadlift and received huge jumps in back size due to it)

I would say eat more and eat lean and focus on areas where you are weak, it will only make you stronger and look better.

my current diet is something like
2800-3500 calories/day
200-400g carbohydrates
250-350g protein
less than 100g fat from good sources (olive oil, avocados etc...)
1-4 gallons of water/day

working out fours days a week on a push, pull(deadlift day) push, leg(squat) &pull day

Thanks Dooblecain for the reply......

Thats a huge increase in bodyweight and size, in such a short period of time aswell, sounds great, good on you, have you got any before and after pics?

I must admit the deadlift is something I dont do, but the owner of my gym did show me how to execute it properly last year, so maybe I should take him and you up on your advice and get deadlifting.

I workout 3 times a week, with the following split:

Monday: Chest & Back (just started this, before I just used to do chest on its own).

Wednesday: Shoulders & Legs

Friday: Bi's & Tri's

I enjoy my new split, unfortunately 3 times a week is all I can do due to work commitments and time the gym is open.

As for my food intake, I could do with some info on what you eat daily, types of food, times to eat etc......all help is appreciated.

Currently I miss breakfast (big mistake I know, but one im going to cure by having cereal), then have a meal at lunch, a snack in the afternoon and then chicken & pasta for tea, I need to improve what I eat big time.

Thanks again for the help and if you have any pics to view it would be good to see them.

Ok, I am getting some serious pictures on sunday but I saw this one from when I was about 210-215 lbs on halloween. it does not show the upper body that well but it shows the legs to a decent degree. Plus I think the picture is amusing and if we cant have fun what is the point.

hahaha nice one...

back to the point, you cant just rely on the PWO shake man, your other meals are just as important...its like lil savages info says

something like... if ppl cared 1/10 as much about the other meals in their day other than the PWO shake then we would have alot more BBers around..and i think this is absolutely true (props to savage)

i try to eat every 1.5 hrs...even if its just something small i eat..

Sounds like you're lucky in getting a good gym, the people who work at my gym think a deadlift should be done with 2.5kg dumbells on a swiss ball with a medicine ball tied to your head.
