OK, I've been on the fence about posting any pics in here for a little while, but I feel like I've made a little bit of progress as of late, and I'd appreciate some comments on what your thoughts are, and what I should work on.
I know that for myself, I've been focusing on my legs more lately because I think that I kind of neglect them sometimes...not really, but I tend to work out my upper body a little more. I apologize for any poor quality pics...sometimes the lighting isn't that great...and I also apologize for any strange faces that I have in any pictures too. But, please give me your honest opinion...I'm tough...I can take it. http:///jpg http:///jpg http:///jpg http:///jpg Last edited by jennyd; 03-18-2006 at 11:51 AM. |

You are hot. I think that I would not get too much more muscular if I was you. I think you just need to maintain the shape you are in and not worry about gaining anymore muscle or defenition.

Thanks everyone...I feel a little better now...I was so nervous.
So, like I mentioned in my first post, I'm really only concerned with putting some more muscle on my legs for mass. But as far as getting any more muscular...that's not the look I'm going for. I'm aiming towards more of a lean, strong look. You know? Where I have the muscle, but they're not big and bulky (yeah, yeah, I know....girls don't get huge - but they can get bigger than I am). I'd like to drop a little bit more bodyfat. Not much though, because I know that I'm leaning towards the lean side as it is. Once that's acheived, I can start doing more maintaining. Thanks for the relplies though...and if you have advice or thoughts....fire away. |

okay, now that we all agree you do look great, and the photos are pretty good, so be proud of the work you've done to get to this stage.
If I would recommend something, it may be more detail in the middle back area, and a little more detail for the abs (not much, but a little definition here will really set off the upper body a little better). I think your shoulders/arms looks good, along with your legs. Legs wasn't the best pose to show them off, but you could see the detail in the one supporting your weight. Great job, a little tweak here and there and I think you are ready for some NPC Fitness competition.

Again, thanks everyone for your replies.
Fitme, it's hard to say how long I've been training because I've always been athletic. I played soccer for 15 years, so there was usually some intense training going on, especially during soccer season. I also played volleyball for about 5 years. I actually think that that's one of the reasons why I tended to neglect my legs a little. I guess I always thought they got worked enough from soccer. After I stopped playing, I kind of got lazy and put on about 10-15 pounds, and since I'm small, I thought that I was a little on the chubby side. I would say that I started to get seriously into working out about 6 years ago or so...then got pregnant. I got really skinny pretty fast after my son, and then decided to get back into shape. So...I started to do a little more as far as working out goes, and I was really just doing it to stay in shape, nothing more. But, I'd say for the past 6 months or so, I've been paying a lot of attention to my diet, trying to do the right exercises for what I'm trying to accomplish, and focusing on doing things the right way, rather than any way I felt like doing it (which is what I did in the past). I think that I just so happen to be lucky that my body tends to react quickly to new things. Hrpii, Thank you for your constructive criticism. I've been doing core workouts for a few weeks now, and hopefully that will improve the back area. It will probably improve the abs too, but I really don't want to have ripped abs. (I used to have really ripped abs, and I didn't think it looked that feminine). So, now I'm just looking to keep them tight, visible, and toned. But the core workout should aid in acheiving this. I've also just started to do dead lifts. I've always just done stiff leg deads, and would only do regulard deads every once in a blue moon. I feel this in my back a lot when I do them, so hopefully that will provide some improvement too. |

sounds like you have a good plan, and I agree, big powerful abs on a female are not that good looking, but to see the slight detail is pretty good. I think your plan will workout well for you
Might I suggest some cable rows, T-bar rows or reverse flys (light weight for full contraction) for the mid back area. The stiff-dead lifts are good for the lower back, but you would need to do them probably more often to get the benefits...but I think your lower back is probably fine.
