it never ceases to amaze me. No matter how many times i do power or hang cleans, my traps always feel the exact same, they feel like someone tried to rip them off in my sleep. I love it, i think people forgot how effective olympic cleans are at building powerful traps, and explosiveness.
never has a simple shrug left me feeling so accomplished. never any shoulder pain either.

just had my second good workout in forever. today was legs, and its been a while since i felt like i was working my legs. box squats killed me today. i had trouble getting out of gym after only 2 sets, its great.
box squats - 225x8 225x8 sldl - 185x10 185x10 leg press - wide stance 390x15 390x15 calf press - 390x25

not at my normal gym, just some dumbells and a few machines, still a decent workout.
flat db bench - 90x7 90x6 90x6 incline db - 80x10 tri ext - 3 sets, i forgot the numbers, dont regularly do these shoulder press machine - (very light machine ???) 230x10 230x10 230x9 tris are shot tonight, love it

so last night i kind of maxed out on abs. I like to do abs having off a hyperextension machine backwards, so i can get a really good stretch. I almost touch my head the ground, the sit all the way up. I usually do it with 10 lb or 25 lbs weights. Last night i picked up an 80 lb dumbell and did 2, and i feel absolutely horrible today. My stomach keeps cramping up, but it kind of feels good at same time i guess. thats all. never max out your abs.

I got called into work an hour early, so i only had like 25 minutes at gym, but i think i used them well, seeing as this is the most i have sweated and have not been this worn out in a while, great workout.
clean and jerk - 135x10 165x5 165x5 165x5 215x2 clean - 215x3 215x3 235x1 wide grip lat pulldown - 150x12 150x12 150x12 close grip - 165x8 preacher curls - (biceps already pumped and tired) 65x10

225x5 315x5 365x5 365x5 405x1 405x1 pull throughs - 2 sets of 15, never done before, experiementing 45 degree hyper - 25 lb plate x15 x 15 never had the "lower back pump" but i did today, and wow, i had to keep sitting down on the way out of the gym, i was walking all weird, it was funny, but horrible, but great..... all in one. not many sets, but my legs and back are still shaking an hour later.

My endurance with weights sucks. My first set of bench was not even failure, it was almost failure, but i still got it myself. Then my next set, after a 4 minute rest, was 3 reps lest, and that 5th rep was failure, lol. its ok, i dont plan on doing a 225 rep test any time soon, i just want to lift bigger number, i like low volume training much better anyways.
bench - 235x8 235x5 265x2 incline db - 75x8 75x6 tri ext - 110x25 140x10 tried to do dips, couldnt do any, if im fresh i can get like 15.... bad muscle endurance side db raises - 20x15

I tried front squats for the first time today, the were neat. Kinda hurt delts, but i think i will do them more often.

Got called into work early today, so i had to rush my lifts today. My shoulders are my weak spot, for sure, so I wanted to take some time to work on them, i rarely have a shoulder day, usually incorporate during my bench press day, they get hit hard then, but wanted to do a bit of special work.

Let me know when would be a good starting point for the diet and we'll get on that. I swear if you don't give me 100% dedication for at least 6 weeks to show quality progress I'll kill you.
Sorry I didn't get right back to you, but the 4th celebration started on like the 2nd. lol I'll be on the lake water skiing after I do legs tomorrow, but after that it's all about Wayne. |
