So I worked out at Planet Fitness tonight, since I am home for easter, it is the only gym I could get to, my cousin took me as a guest.

It was quite an experience, no DB's over 60 lbs and only smith machines, I was depressed about this, but it ended up not being too horrible. Just a lot of guys who have gotten big doing smith presses and db work, no one prolly ever doing a dead lift or squat.

All lifts done on smith machine.

close stance squats -
325x3
325x3
325x3
(these really hit my quads, nice change from sumos)

smith shoulder press -
185x5
175x6

reverse grip bench -
185x8
205x5

close grip bench -
205x5
205x5

db shoulder press -
60x10
60x10

some cardio

what is this, spring break. Come on man, lets see some 10-12 exercises per workout. You could have at least added some db hammer curls, reverse curls, or one arm cable curls to finish them off.

That would of been cool but they cut the lights off in the gym. I am almost always the last one there. Yesterday was a weird day. Class from 11-3:30. Work from 4-10:30. Today no work, so I should get a really good thorough day in for chest. Looking forward to it.

my triceps are overtrained a little, i will take it easy on them next week.

bench press -
225x3
225x3
245x3 (wide grip)
205x8 (wide grip, 2 second pause)
205x6 (wide grip, 2 second pause)
205x10

db bench - first time trying 100s
100x4

cable flies, upward motion -
70x10
70x10

like i said, triceps felt odd tonight. I have been hitting them twice a week pretty hard with close grip and reverse grip, so i am gonna not focus on them for a week or two, then go from there. Still feeling good though.

woke up today and my back was in a state that I have never felt it before. I got up and was hunchbacked the first few minutes of my morning. This happens most mornings, but was especially bad today. I have been trying to figure out the cause, i think it might be my job. I work in a restaurant about 4 days a week, and I wear dress shoes, that have no padding and are about as soft as concrete, i realized this because over spring break back problem went away. So now I think I need to get a pair of shoes that support me, since I am at my job about 25 hours a week. I cant believe I didnt notice this before, but I am glad I caught it now, especially at my weight, I need to have good support.

In light of all of this, my dead lift day suffered, I just felt so weak, but here is what I did.

deads -
225x5
315x5
315x3
405x3
405x1 (this is when I really started feeling crappy)

hang cleans -
135x5
185x5

I just left, I was hobbling around like an old person. I hope some new shoes fix this.

Went to the Chiropractor today. I get my adjustment tomorrow, today they took x-rays and let me have about 15 minutes hooked to the electrode therapy machine.

They had to spend forever taking x-rays because on the side shot, i was wide. It was taking a shot through shoulders, then through chest, and back through shoulders. I had too much muscle for them to get a clear shot, cause their machine wasnt powerful enough to get all the way through. eventually they had to sett for a show a little lower, but it was just a pain standing there for about 20 minutes while they kept taking the x-rays. I am excited about adjustment tomorrow, he saw about 4 vertebrae that he may mess with.

good news and bad news.

good news...i have lost 7 lbs in the last 2 weeks

bad news....i feel weak as hell.

I havent eaten much the last half of yesterday, and the first half of today, so i know that will effect me, but can 24 hours of poor eating decrease my squat by 20 or 30 pounds. This is just a question, i know a good diet is necessary for energy in the gym, but can it effect me that much? Anyways, well, only my squats felt horrible today, others things werent great, but not bad either.

bench press -
225x5
225x5
245x3
245x3

clean and jerk -
135x5
135x5
155x5
185x3
185x3
205x1
225x1

squats -
135x10
225x5
225x5
225x8
315x2 (WHAT?)

the reason for a fuller body type workout is i am going home for a few days, i can do arms and accessory work there, but not big lifts.

Its a whole other FT job keeping track of these logs. I stopped logging my wouts in here a few months ago. Coming in here to log 5 days of training is tough and we change it up every workout, so sometimes we do some old school moves that I have NO clue what they are called, but they bust my a$$.

Good luck at finding out whats up with your squat.

You looked back on those pics of Texas and realized it was time to get back to busting your ass in the gym...

I'm proud of you.

Edit: that gig at the fact'ry is still open if you're still interested.
