I'm slacking on the weights. Today was supposed to be legs, and I love legs. I couldn't get myself to sleep last night, just couldn't switch the brain off. I think I crashed at 2. Alarm went off at 4 and I got up because if my partner is going to show then I damn well better be there. Basically I just spotted and changed weights for him, I'm worthless today. I'm grabbing a nap in my car at lunch. Working until 10pm tonight going to crash as soon as I get home and make up for my failure of a day tomorrow before the wife and kids wake up.

Tomorrow there will be progress.

I did cardio last night on my eliptical in the garage. I had to go exchange a halloween costume for the boys, coupled with the tanker explosion closing the major traffic point by my house meant my time got eaten up. My eliptical in the garage works, I just prefer to go to the gym I think it's mental. 30min and I was sucking wind and shotting like I just got out of the gas chamber (which if you get the chance you should do it rocks! although I could just have a sick view of it I went everytime I got the chance). Pretty sure my sinuses are trying to kill me. Popped some benedryl after the cardio and boom slept like a baby wrapped in a blanket right out of the dryer.

Today is going to be long. I walked in to four "fires" from customers. Really they are just training issues and not actual program bombs or issues but they are still going to be time intensive to get them resolved and make sure everyone is all huggy huggy unicorn farts and rainbows. Come hell or high water I'm skipping out of here early to hit the park with the boys. I'm planning on a nap after that and then dinner and more cardio. My damn gym partner is now on the road on business, I guess it is his turn since I went last week, but I'm going to push myself this week so he is going to have to deal with it.

Partner is travelling on business so I stuck to machines and dumbells. I just don't trust my knowledge of my limits yet to solo under a bar I still did some bar work but just CGBP.

Flat Bench DBs
45x10 warmup
55x8
65x8
70x6

Incline DBs
45x8
55x8
60x8

Cable Flies
35x10
42.5x6x2

Triceps:

CGBP
110x10
115x8
125x6

Tricep press
42.5x8
50x6x2

Short, sweet, I feel good.

Missed a few posts. Been working on cardio more and more trying to shed some skin. Clothes are fitting better but I don't want to over do it I still like mass.

Dide 35min today, was real slow. Have a wicked sinus headache, hopefully it wears off.

Great freaking weekend so far!

Friday I did a good 45min of cardio on the eliptical in the garageafter a mentally draining day at work, it felt great to put on some angry music and just pound away. Then I let my boys stay up late an we had a movie night it rocked.

Today:

Breakfast was some smoked turkey breast, a yougurt, and a hand full of crackers.

Lunch was sushi

Dinner was a bratwurst, a yougurt, and some rice.

I had a babbie of whole grain chex to snack on while at work and I hydrated much better than I had been doing.

Worked my fun job today, got to tackle and cuff a shoplifter in the parking lot good times. I don't get many resisters they generally just give up (a lot of the other LP get resisters but I think being bigger and my approach generally stops that). This lady wanted to tussle though. Went to her pockets and I'm not in the mood to get maced by a hood rat so we went to the mat, loved it.

Tomorrow is wife's bday, gonna have some family over and then we're going to Fogo De Chao for a freakin gourmet meat fest. After we watch the Colts smack that ass of course.

Good freakin weekend!

Next week back to a client site in Ohio, guess I gotta enjoy it while I can, I'm sleeping deeper and longer finally so I'm starting to have good recovery time I'm feeling great.

I thought LP touching a "potential" shoplifter was too much of a liability? I've never heard of a company that would allow it, due to the obvious law suit those scum bags would throw on any store for that.

Have you temporarily given up weights for cardio?

Depends on the store. I've been doing LP for this company for 5 years and they very much have a hands on policy (part of the reason I do it). Basically I'm allowed to do what is needed to protect customers, employees and assets of the company. Everytime we go to court it's an open and shut case. I get up there and the conversation is always the same, the judge asks me for the facts and I state "Here's the video, one he/she left the store I approached, showed my badge (gayest badge ever by the way), identified myself verbial as loss prevention, he/she attempted to run and I restrained them."

I wouldn't say I've given up weights for cardio but I need to drop some weight and I need to stay active. So I figure if I've only got 30-45m I should be doing the cardio right now. I'm still in the I HATE CARDIO phase, I know it will go away as I get the cardio bug again but right now I sit there and think man I should be moving iron...I've gotta force myself so I am forcing myself.

You think it's counterproductive? I'm just trying not to look like weight lifter wrapped in a fat suit. I think next week my routine should be close to normal again and I'm going to shoot for Mon/Wed/Fri lift split and Tues/Thurs 30+ min cardio sessions.

Got invited for a Saturday lift. Went to the Gold's on the East side of town, I think I like it better than the one off of Michigan Ave to bad the East side one is way out of the way...

We did back and shoulders ( I know why? wasn't my house and I was a guest so I went along).

Military Press:

95x10 warm up
135x8
155x8
155x6

Some weird super set exercise felt like the shoulder work out version of 21s:

20lbs dumbell in each hand 8 reps of three different movents in succesion, 3 sets

Shrugs:

75lbs dumbell in each hand, 8 shrug and hold

Then moved to a machine to get bigger weight, did 3 plates on each side, 8x2

Lat pull downs:

100x8
125x8
140x6

Bent over rows:

135x8
145x6
145x6

Seated rows:

Isolated 45x8x2 and 50x6x2

Some forearm/grip machine I haven't ever used before

2 plates, 10x4

50 minutes in and out not bad with three of us. The only rest was waiting for your turn.

Got home had a turkey sandwich on whole grain with a splash of mustard, a fist full of whole grain cheez-its, and a protein shake. I feel really, really good and I'm looking foward to Monday.

......now to clean this house. Anyone want to buy a set of 3yr old twin boys real cheap?

Shrugs, really? lol

Wheres the deadlifts? Those will build your traps up much faster than shrugs not to mention the benefit to the rest of your body. Theres a ton of people who do shrugs at my gym and they all have sh!t for traps and none of them deadlift. Hmmmmmm.

Yeah I know. Since reading here I've come to understand that. But like I said I was just following as I was a guest and he's a friend of a friend so I wasn't going to step on toes I just went along with it. At the end of it he asked me about my split and I told him. He asked why no shoulders and I explained what I'd been doing based on what I've learned. He might adjust he might not.

Chest and triceps this morning. I powered thru a hurdle this morning, it wasn't a weight or a rep personal record/best it was pushing thru an excuse. My gym partner didn't show this morning. In the past if I get a call at 4am saying hey I won't be there I'd say sweet and roll my ass back over and grab two more hours of sleep. There have been times when I've been there and he didn't show and I just slept right there in the parking lot...I mean come on the gym is 50 feet away at that point.

I started cleaning up my diet, why then would I let the actual workout slip? I had a great workout and I am gassed. I had nothing left at the end of it, hell I didn't even get my last exercise in(I think I just pushed too much too soon and didn't pace myself).

Chest

Bench:
135x10 (warm-up)
155x8
185x6
205x1x2 <--- This was huge for me. I didn't have a spot, or even anyone I could ask there were three old ladies barely moving on the treadmills and me this morning. I wanted to say eh I'll stay at 185 but I wanted it. I really wanted to be back into double plates again but I'm not risking it without a spot yet.

Cable Cross (weight is each side)
42.5x10
50x8
57.5x4 - 50x4 (I wanted more than 4 reps so I dropped weight and finished out with 50)

Incline Dumbells:
40x10
50x8
50x6

Triceps:

Tricep Press:
50x10
57.5x8
56x6
50x10

CGBP:
135x8
140x6
140x6

Done in just under 40 minutes. I've got a bag full of good chow for the day and I'm going to try and keep my water intake high.

Tuesday I got a phone call from a client freaking out about a system issue which required an onsite visit. So with less than 24hr notice I was scheduled for 6hrs of driving and 12 hours of face time fun, fun, fun. I crashed real early on Tuesday night, got up at 4am yesterday did 35min on the eliptical and then headed out. Spent all day there, put out the major fires, and drove home.

I'm going to try and sneak out tonight and do legs.... after Palin and her crew roll out since they are 2min from my house doing the book signing crap and traffic will be stupid.

Tomorrow is back and bi's.

So what you really meant to say is that you are going to go get Sarah Palin's autograph rather than train legs

Just say it, you are to Palin as what Nitehawk is to Danica Patrick

Oh don't get me wrong I'd give her a ride on the Wayne Train (I'd make her leave her glasses on). But I've got no desire to read a book that was ghost written, besides I think she's about as smart as a bucket of tepid water.
