push day
---------
rack bench: done in a squat cage; these are a lot harder than i thought

3-4" off chest:
-135x8
-185x2x5
5" off chest:
-205x4
-205x3
8-9" off chest:
-225x2x4; hard as hell.

flat bench: med grip
135x10- felt weird since i did these after rack work. felt like i had rubber bands attached to my arms

paused bench:
155x4, couldn't lock out on fifth rep

db extreme chest stretch: 60 lb for 1 minute: ouch

db shoulder press: full ROM
40x9

upright row:
70x10

ab machine:
115x15

tricep pulldown w/ rope:
80x20

pull ups: wide
bwx5, bwx6

-wanted to come in and do regular bench, maybe sets of 185-195 but need to change things up with it to get out of this plateau. those rack bench are no joke, i'm thinking of switching between rack bench, paused bench, and maybe sets of 3 to get me out of this plateau.

How do you like the chest stretch? Hurts like a mofo. Doing any of the other stretches?

I love doing paused benches also.

i love the chest stretch, it was just painful as hell today after the rack bench. it's been two weeks since i bench so that's a reason for the pain but i pushed through it.

i want to start doing the other extreme stretches but i would be in the gym a lot longer if i did. I would do the quad stretch and tricep stretch if i ever get time for them.

Don't expect the pain to get any better..........I have been doing them for a long time and they still bring to near tears the last 5 seconds (especially the chest).........good stuff.

Thanks for posting a log.

today i'm planning to do deads and back. hams and calves are still sore but i'm going to do them. i wonder if the sore hams will affect my deads today, i'm aiming for 295x5.

just contracted my legs and quads, hams, and calves are still sore.

good to see your putting up a log buddy, trust me its totally worth the few extra minutes everyday. after a while youll really be able to guage your progress and make neccessary corrections in your workouts.

youd be suprised how many of the members will view your log and give you pointers when you ask it of them.

good luck with your program.. make sure you try and kick the **** out of your log book every set and you wont be sorry.

Thursday November 2, 2006

pull day
-----------
deads: wasn't sure to do deads today becuase legs are still sore. That and all i had before this workout was a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast and two protein shakes. felt no leg drive
135x5
185x3
205x3-
225x3
245x5-sumo
265x5- sumo
-weight felt heavier today, i should have waited til tomorrow to deadlift. i wonder if last week's deads were right, i did 275x5 last week -i think i had 2- 45s 2-35s 6-10s on the bar. i don't know, i'm sure i counted them right, hope i did. 265 did feel like the 275 last week. next week i'll make sure to do 295.

bo rows/ pendlay rows:
95x2x10
115x2x10

lat pulldown:
120x10
135x8

cable rows:
120x10
135x10- i think i did 135 or could it have been 150? damn, i'm forgetting things now.

standing bb curls:
60x10
60x8
-biceps worn out from all the rowing.

-i can't believe i went into the gym today. I had less than 1000 calories coming in to workout 5:00pm.
-i ate nothing becuase i was studying for a test all up til it. i should have gotten something to eat, then again i should have lifted tomorrow with my legs fully recovered.

damn it!!

push day
-----------
rack bench:

1" off chest: the bar touched my chest b/c of the arch i use
-135x5
-175x5
-185x5

3" off chest: i moved over to the cage for the rest of the rack work. this is where i started off last week
-205x2x3

5" off chest: next pin up, i think. was the same height as the set of 205 last week
-225x2x3

8-9" off chest:
-235x2x3
rack work felt easier. wanted to do 245 on the last set but kept it at 235

reg. flat bench:
135x10

db extreme chest stretch: 30 lb dbs for 1 minute. after realizing that i was doing these wrong i lowered the weight and did 30s. they weren't as heavy so i'll do 35s or 40s next week.

standing military press:
95x2x6- last rep on last set got halfway up.

extreme shoulder stretch: ouch, will do these more. my biceps got a good stretch also

cable side laterals: 1-arm
20x1x15

pull ups: wide
bwx10

skull crushers: not sure how much the crooked barbell weighs so i'll just put the weight i put on it
+20x10
+40x5

dips:
bwx15

ab machine:
100x15
100x10

bench seems to be getting stronger. hope legs recovers so i can hit deads heavy this week, if not i'm thinking of working back without doing deads or doing light deads or even rack deads.

pull day
---------
hammer strength isolateral rows: 1 arm at a time
45x8
55x8
65x5
75x8
90x6

hammer strength lat pull down: 1 arm at a time, underhand grip

70x5
80x5

deadlifts: all conventional unless stated sumo
135x5
185x3
205x3
225x5
245x5
275x2- sumo. grip was slipping. hands felt powdery
275x3- sumo. added straps
295x2- sumo. ouch, pulled with too much back. PR
- i'm thinking of taking it light on deads, maybe pull from a higher postion, rack deads, or pull singles.

cable rows: close grip
105x10
120x10
135x10

face pulls:
90x15

bb curls:

Congrats on the deadlift PR. What the hell does "grip felt powdery" mean? Were you using chalk?

hahahaha, no i wasn't using chalk. my grip felt slick from my shirt that my parents dryed with that fabric cloth that makes it smell fresh. My shirt is covered in it. It felt a little oily, like powder and oil mixed together. It wasn't helping basically
