back in the gym finally

little bit of everything: squats and bench, worked out at friend's gym "Bally Total Fitness" -what a metro gym
---------------------
ATG squats:
135x10
155x10
175x8
185x5
-wanted to do 155x20, will next week

waited for the flat bench so i did some clean and press for fun, going to add these in
clean and press:
135x3
-will find a way to fit these in

did some sldl for the hell of it. Also did some snatch grip sldl's to get a feel for them.

bench: -wanted 215x5
135x10
155x5
175x5
195x5
205x5, felt like my spotter was helping on them. he said he didn't but i felt weak today, maybe it was the squats lol
135x8 - tired

-got a free 1 month membership to my friend's gym. nice place for women but not my type of gym. It has a pool and all that other stuff but the gym i'm currently enrolled at has lifters.

-i went here at a spur of the moment. wanted to do rack work. will get them in some way.

push day(suppose to be, but went to the metro gym so buddies' didn't want to do what i wanted to do)
--------------
ATG Squats:
135x3x10
-felt minor lower back pump.

rack bench: the power rack i used was different than the one i'm used to. the pins were set 4 inches apart
4 inches off chest- 135x5; 185x5
8 inches off chest- 205x5; 225x5
12 inches off chest- 245x5
-i don't like this particular rack, when i get back to my gym, i'll be a lot happier
flat bench:
135x10

power cleans: starting from floor and back down
135x10
135x8
-damn these feel good. Want to press them but felt i wouldn't be able to get that many in

tricep machine thing, some girly machine that was unused. weight doesn't matter becuase the machine pretty much sucked.

-came in and wanted to do strictly legs, 155x20, but was pressed for time. I'm off to visit my mother...

Just one quick question, the other day when you did deads why do you do so many sets? You did 8 sets just seems a little high.

they were warm up sets. i get used to working towards my max like that. I used to warm up a little and then jump into my work sets, but it used to be hard when on the work set.

i guess i'm not warming up properly. That's why i pretty much do sets of bench and deads like that. I like to get a feel of how strong i'm feeling that day.

Well you know your body better than anyone else so if that works then stick to it. I only do one warmup set myself.

I wouldnt count the first 3 as theyre warmup sets. still id cut back on the warmups a little. im sure theyre taking away from your working sets. I noticed that with the deads the other day you had a few too many warmup sets. just a thought.

I agree i do warm up too much, but i hate jumping into weight and not feel properly warmed up. That was my problem long ago; i'd feel unprepared when handling the weight. Jogging and 2 warmup sets might help. I know my squats and especially my deadlifts are hurting becuase of it but i don't want to get injured. I know my bench should be a lot farther than it should be, i am at my best but inconsistancy is kicking my ass

I'm trying to get back to my normal routine where i have actual working sets. Hopefully the new semester and me quiting work will help get things back to normal

leg day; first workout of the new year, wwwooo!
------------
ATG squats:
135x10
135x20

SLDL: off stepper
135x10

standing calf raise machine:
135x5; dc style

ab machine:

-got spine checked for free at my original gym. i have more weight on my right side than left; 95 to 81 to be exact. My hips are tilted and shoulders are tilted; my left shoulder is slightly higher than my right. The lady doing the free check up said they had an offer for x-rays and other test for only $19.95 today, i said no thanks but maybe i should have taken the offer.

i might look into this more to make sure it doesn't become a problem in the future.
