Well I had my follow up exam this morning. Was a bit pissed off as I was scheduled for 10:30am and the Dr. was running 2 hours behind. Told them I would reschedule since I had already been waiting 35 minutes. Next thing I know....
WOOSH!
Right into the exam room. The doctor looked at the wound sites, checked flexation and contraction, had me walk a bit, and he was stunned at how well I was doing. Recovery = EXCELLENT!
It will take a full 6 months for the surgical procedure to be completly healed and 6 to 8 weeks before I can resume my TKD training (very light work only). I am allowed to do bodyweight work, elastic band resistance work, and ankle weights now but if my knee starts to hurt, I am to stop. The Doctor was generally surprised at how far I was in my recovery. I guess I owe that to my state of fitness prior to surgery and my knowledge of the required rehabillitation. Me thinks I should be right as rain by March. Looks like I will be back kicking in now time. The true test will be in August when I try to do squats for the first time in 2 years!
