Alright y'all.
Today was a wreck. I totally depleted myself by staying up all night, sleeping during the day (which equals missing meals) and not drinking enough water after my speed work this morning. Lucky I'm a machine. At 5, I decided I was going to go do legs with my son and let him play and watch videos in my office while I lift. Of course, I was sidetracked by the fact that I wanted a new cell phone since I cracked the screen on my current one and that I wanted a new camcorder. So, mission accomplised. I bought a sweet new camcorder (and a phone). So now I can do a lot more videoing and the damn files won't be massive. Also got plenty of software to edit movies, so I'm going to have some fun. Have a tripod and a remote, so I don't need anyone with me now. I'm not into the vanity of filming myself for the hell of it, but as I take stabs of weights near my PRs, I'll definitely post more vids. At 7:45p (8p is normally PJ's bedtime), I showed up at my studio to do legs with a tired child. I had to make things quick. I've tried to hydrate and I've taken electrolytes, but I am still kind of dry. Got to make this workout quick: Front Squats Superset with GHR (holding a 25lb weight) One minute rest between FS's and GHRs and 2 minute rest between GHRs and front squats Fronts 225x15x4 GHRs 25x15x4 My quads started tightening up while I was warming up. Since it's cold and I was out running around, I had Nike pants on and not shorts, so I didn't want to deal with BioFreeze tonight. Leg Press supersetted with SLDL Same thing as above, different exercises Leg Press 750x20x4 SLDL 315x10x4 My back really started tightening up at this point. I know it's dehydration more than anything, but I'm trying to just cruise through the workout. DC Calves ss with hanging situps (haven't done these in a while) 450x13 dc x 4 sets (last set wasn't dc, my calves were cramped. Pitiful). hang situps 4x20 I feel much better now. Downed plenty of vits and minerals and 2 32oz bottles of Gatorade to try to replenish before I downed my protein. I have my garage door open right now with a big ass steak on the grill that I'm going to eat as soon as that thing isn't cold (rare). It has been on marinade for the last 10 hours. It's raining ice, it's 35 degrees and it sucks. This is south Texas in April, and it's supposed to be 90 already. |

I was wondering how your leg workout went Boyd..
Thats still some nice GHR's and calf raises though. I know how you feel about the cold weather. Its real cold here. Gets down in the 30's and 20's at night.

Cold weather has been quite foreign to me over the last few years. I mean, it gets colder than hell in Baghdad but usually not so bad here as the last several winters have been quite mild. I do usually go home to the Smokies once during the winter and see some snow, but down here, I expect heat in April. It was like 90 and humid the day I got back from home.
Nonetheless, the combo of the cold, me not sleeping last night, not eating as much today, sleeping and not drinking plenty of water throughout the day and then working out so late was a recipe for one of the sh!ttiest workouts I've had in a long time. I'll sleep like a baby tonight. Tryptophan + Melatonin = Coma like sleep. |

Thanks Warrior. If tomorrow wasn't Easter, I would've delayed the workout one more day without thought. I'm going to have to hide eggs in my house for Peyton. If it is still sleeting and such, I'm skipping church.
Last year, I was told that it was so hot that the candy in the middle of the plastic eggs was melting. It was like 88. |

ya, easter is a lil pain. my workouts this week r going to b a lil hectic.
haha, 88 isnt so bad but i guess melting candy would b a problem . where i live in aust. its pretty much one season all year round. it doesnt usually go below 70 in winter (well during the day, nite's can b different). in summer it gets anywhere from 88 -> 105, humid as well.have a good easter, (its already easter here .

Good to hear about the steak, that is always a good idea. I cook mine about 1 minute on each side, so the inside is almost bluish its so rare. Enjoy that steak, and enjoy easter with your son, have a great day bro.

Alright y'all,
Against my better judgement, I decided to make today a zero carb day. My legs are cooked, but I know it was more from depletion than from the actual workout, which wasn't that intense. I did up the protein a bit today though and have been taking different minerals/vits throughout the day (and I think these actually absorb Anyway, here's what I've eaten today and what I will eat later. Did some very light treadmill when I woke up (while I was chatting here earlier). 10a - 100g of Micellar Casein Church 11-12 12:30a - 45g protein (lean beef) + 2g Sesamin 2:30a 50g Micellar Edge RTD + 1g Sesamin 4:30a 50g from lean pot roast (that HEB stuff I was telling y'all about) + 2g flax 6p (now, a few minutes early) 50g Micellar Edge RTD + 1g of sesamin 7:30p 50g protein from Tillapia I'll probably drink one more RTD before bed (or I'll mix one from EvoPro and have 2-3g of fish oil. I haven't gotten anywhere near as much fat today as I wanted, but I feel ok. I actually feel surprisingly alert and I thought about dragging Peyton around the neighborhood in his wagon, but it's too cold for that right now. I'll be in Palmy on Tuesday, so I'm probably going to do chest tomorrow as soon as I get a break (5ish). |
