I have a question, how can people do so much on the leg press? I tried a couple of position but the most I could do is 300s. Mys quat is very close to it, 265. When you have time, can you check out my journal and give some critique. Thanks man. Your log is very scientific.

The leg press is more "just upper leg" than a squat is. A squat requires about 75-80% of the muscle fibers in the body, I'd estimate (and I don't know for sure) the leg press is about 30-40% or so (maybe much less). The squat is definitely more of a measurement of overall strength, but the leg press would give you a good indicator of leg push strength (without worrying so much about limiting factors such as the lower back, etc).

I say this because when someone can't increase their squat, often it isn't because their quads can't do it, but because their hips or lower back are going to be crushed.

Aside from that, I've always had a pretty high leg press, even when I was like 14 and only did 2-3 exercises (like leg press, bench and curls). I do notice a lot of people not lowering the weight down enough as well, so their numbers may be kind of skewed.

I heart my biophotonic scanner. This thing is amazing.

Ok, little time, lot to write.

Wanted to dead but wanted the knee to rest, so on Sat or Sunday, I'm going to dead and squat. Yeah, I miss those days.

I warm up and acclimate, don't ask about those sets.

Bent Rows
225x15x3
275x10x2

Pull ups
3 sets x 15 bw
Really slow negative, 2 second hold at the bottom. BURN.

Wide grip pulldowns
Whole stack (says 200, but it's the heaviest 200 I've ever felt on one of these machines)

200x15x5

Upright cable rows
120x20x3

Superset with face pulls
85x20x3

Straight arm pushdowns
120x25x5 (light rest)

I did some hypers as well (like 70 degrees, maybe)
45lbs x 20 x4

Gotta roll!

Well, what a day.

I just received word that my grandfather has passed away. He is who I credit for everything that I have and will become and was the most amazing man that I have known. I'm glad that he is finally feeling no pain, but I feel a bit more alone than I've ever felt.

I'll be heading to my mother's home in the next day or so, so I probably won't be around.

Sorry for your loss...

Scratch that - I went straight to 415 and I couldn't do it. Granted, it was like my 8th set of rgbp... Fresh? Oh hell yes.

Not bad considering all I've had going on over the last 2 days. I didn't even sleep last night.

15x115 (pulled the 25) 15x90 pulled a 45 (10 x 45) pulled the last one and did like 10.

My tris hurt now. I didn't do anything else. Mentally drained.
