I have watched that show twice. She is openly gay, as the scenes with her and her girlfriend are very entertaining. But they rarely show her training, or her trainers working. Mainly it's about her running the place and trying to get into clothes design for fitness. Two of her male trainers are flaming gay, like way over the top.. how the heck can you concentrate on your workout when you have someone going overboard on wtf you are wearing that day... O come on!! I think it's more for the camera and stuff, played up way too much.

Alright, long story short this was a crazy weekend and since I was unable to have an easy leg day during my deload week, I just took leg day off altogether this weekend.
Today was chest and shoulders. Felt Awesome! Alright, good discussion. Today is push day, and it felt great to go heavy... DB Bench 100x15x4 Incline 225x5 275x5 315x5 345x3 365x3x2 Inc DB Bench 100x12x2 Laterals 45x15x3 Front Raises 35x15x2 Very similar to my last chest day, but I flipped the db bench and incline and still got good weight on the incline. I have a nice heavy benching day planned next Tuesday, so it'll feel good to push heavy on the flat bb with 2-3 weeks off of it. I'm about 246.5 and I have felt bloated the last few days. Not too terrible, but a lot of it has to do with the lack of sleep I got this weekend. Also probably didn't drink as much water as I needed too - staying up late throws you off in so many ways. I told hrp today that I'm cutting carbs off at about 5:30 (right now) and I'm going to zero carb tomorrow. He asked me a question and I wanted to point out something - I'm not going zero carb to get into ketosis. I don't actually avoid every single carb there is. My RTDs may have 3g in them and I get down fiber as well. I don't freak out over trace carbs because again, this is a hormone thing, NOT a "get into ketosis" thing. Nonetheless, I have a terrible time getting into ketosis when I'm trying to. It isn't hard for me to get rid of the carbs, it just doesn't happen for me. I've played with BodyOpus and other ketosis based diets, and it just took a lot for me to get into keto (I use the keto-stix to measure). I don't have to go to that extreme to lose fat (I'm not sure anyone really does) but it was just something I wanted to experiment with in the past. Kind of like pot. |

I think I've found another thing that drives me crazy - it's the way that everyone thinks there is one way to train. LOL I like simple, but let me point out something: it's quite ok to deviate from a leg/push/pull week. Especially when you consider that half of these schmucks here don't weigh any more than 148lbs, are benching in their yards and eat 955 calories per day...
I can think of a ton of different successful routines (including some that I have developed) that combine squatting and deads on the same day. Hell, some of the most recognizable power programs of all-time include bench, squatting and deadlifting in the same day 3x per week. I believe everyone knows where I stand on compound exercises and their importance on growth, and how I know you're wasting an assload of time not lifting heavy ass weights, but there are many different ways to attack it. Split and set counts are far less important than intensity and figuring out why you aren't getting stronger. I can say this - if what you are doing hasn't been working, don't expect it to start working out of no where. If you've been training for more than 2 years and people don't stop you often and ask you for workout advice, then what you are doing isn't working. You aren't working hard enough. If you don't hear things things from people like "If I had arms like yours" and "You must workout all the time" or similar things than that, then it's time to seriously evaluate what you're doing and get it straight. I'm not trying to be vicious, I just see a lot of people that don't look like they workout regurgitate advice that they heard when they asked wtf they need to be doing a month ago. For the ones that have been here for a long, long time, I think we can all laugh at the number of people who were brand new to the game one day and then 2 months later they're internet experts. I applaud anyone that has the passion to learn, but again, I think most people just see a nice canned answer and then throw it out there as the Gospel when realistically, they don't completely understand the logic behind the answer themselves. A'ight, I've ranted enough. |

I am not physically in the position where I can tell him what he needs to be doing but its like bro, if its not working for this long don't you think your doing something wrong. I don't get these guys, they do this "modified" close grip bench with elbows real wide yet they struggle with real light weight. I come in work out for a month and I am lifting twice what these guys are. |
