5X Worlds Strongest Man, Mariusz Pudzianowski, set for MMA debut

The man that can currently lay claim to being the strongest man on the face of the planet is set to bring some serious pain to the world of mixed martial arts in the near future.

Five-time Worlds Strongest Man, Mariusz Pudzianowski, has been announced to face off with fellow MMA newcomer Marcin Najman in a heavyweight match-up set for Warsaw, Poland as the headliner for an event titled KSW 12.

The most decorated champion in the history of The Worlds Strongest Man, Pudzianowski captured the title a record five times during the years of 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2008.

Also affectionately referred to as Super Mario, Pudzian, Dominator, and possibly the gnarliest nickname of all time, The Big Python, Pudzianowski is a fourth kyu green belt in Kyokushin kaikan Karate which he has been studying and training since just eleven years of age. On top of his many years spent practicing Karate, Mariusz has also trained in competitive boxing for over seven years now.

As it stands right now, the 6′1″, 285 pound freak of nature is also listed as the top competitor in this years Worlds Strongest Man competition, which is slated to take place between the dates of September 26 and October 3. This years event will be hosted from Malta, a beautiful independent island in the center of the Mediterranean.

Hmmm.
When is Magic Johnson gonna do MMA?

Seriously though, Super Mario could kill a person if he landed a solid blow. Worth seeing.

Thats true, everyone is coming out of the wood work to join the world of MMA.

But I have to say that this one really excites me.
If you get's ahold of his opponent, he's going to slam them on his head, then probably twist him up like a pretzel.

If his strength carries over into the octagon, no wrestling background or not, his pure strength alone is going to be scary....I mean death scary, like he's going to kill somebody literally in some way with his bare hands

Against talented guys this is where it'll tell! Without the ability to repel or instigate takedownds he could end up being anoher freakshow & tarnishing his reputation.

All the same he has the potential to be a very entertaining fighter, time will tell!

With no take-down defense you are the will of someone with a good ground game and who will neutralize all that strength, trust me, I am the guy who tapped to a 110lb blue belt in my old class...course she fights pro but still, the broad was QUICK.

On a serious note, this is true, thats why I adjusted my stance when I mess around.....Now I am more squared up, got to be prepared for the those takedowns.

I like it. Hell, I like when anyone "crosses over". If they take a beating, they take a beating. I don't get the "purists" being offended by this.

I think Mariusz can definitely evolve into something special. I don't think people give world class athletes like him (and BROCK) their due. These aren't normal people, and have a level of desire the average lard @ss can't grasp...
