Bucs for sale.....
So, breaking news in Tampa is that the Glaziers (who also own Manchester U) are dead broke. Apparently they lost approx $450M in the Madoff ponzi scheme, and have leverage Manchester U to the full limit allowed, and are also looking to leverage the Bucs and the stadium to the full limits as well. They have huge loan payments coming due in Jan, and probably won't make the payments.
For Bucs fans, this explains why they remained $33M under the salary cap, gave NO signing bonus' to any free agents in the off-season, and why they have the lowest paid GM and Coaching Staff in the NFL. By keeping team costs down, they make the team more attractive to potential buyers. Eddie Debartolo lives in Tampa now - hopefully, he will put together a team to buy the Bucs and keep them in place. Why would I mention keeping them in place? There are 7-8 cities being considered by the NFL to have their franchises moved to LA to fill the new stadium being built. Tampa is now one of them due to the financial ineptitude of the Glaziers. FYI - Robert Kraft (owner of the Patriots) also lost a butt-load of money - no word on how it may or may not affect them.

I sort of like not having a team in Los Angeles.
Most people only get their local team coverage on TV and dont get to see the rest of the league.... In LA they broadcast numerous games, we get to see alot more than we would if we had a team here. But it would be nice to be able to attend a professional football game, which I have not been to in over 22 years....All my football action is watching high school or college games (USC)

I figured they'd overload you with Charger and Raider games. When I was living in Vegas, we often got Charger, Raider and Cardinal games when I'd have much rather watched one of the East Coast games.......

I just hope they don't move the Raiders to LA
our stadium is a piece of sh!t... but at least it's 30 minutes away... not 6 hours, lol although the way we look right now I don't have much desire to go to the games or even watch them on TV

Its a rumor that still hasn't totally died off, and until the owners show a desire to improve the team financially and personnel wise, then the rumor won't die. The rest of the stuff Sileo said was true - Glazers are losing $$ hand over fist with their commercial real estate ventures.....pretty easy to find that info on the net. Bucs are profitable, even as bad as they are.
I can't see them being moved though.....too much is offered by city of Tampa for the NFL to go away.
